Freddy’s: An old school burger joint that took the place of an american tradition in middletown, caption D's. I went once before about a year ago, was disappointed by a soaking wet patty melt, and did not return. That is until today. I ventured over to an old comfort spot, a spot I used to go with my grandmother, Homerun Burgers and Fries. Consistent and delicious. When I got there I was met with a for lease sign and an empty interior. So I ended up back in the drive through of the once great Caption D's to order a "Freddy’s Classic Double Meal" which came with fries and a Diet Coke (that was actually diet pepsi). I regret to inform you all that my initial analysis stands true, this establishment sucks * and *. The fries are so thin that they're basically just crispy air without the potato inside. Their Diet pepsi tastes like an expired cough medicine. and the burger... The double burger was smashed so hard that both of those patties together are still not as thick as a homerun burger. The bun is lathered in mustard and garnished with two giant pickle slices. Overall, the taste was reminiscent of licking a fry cook's spatula. There was no substance to the meal, no soul. I long for the days of old middletown. Not too old, but it seems the times have changed. Who knew it would be so hard to find a good burger in this consumerist metropolis of for profit fast food establishments. Who knew the wound of a lost caption D's would still sting so deeply.
1/10....
Read moremy man lives near this location so we go here often. its always been great until recent months or so. we noticed the shift the white female manager runs at night is usually not good. she seems okay but also always blames the mistakes on the employees and never takes accountability for something going wrong with our order each time on her shift. every time we order a frozen custard other than oreo, its never right. went there today and got one, didnt realize til i was home that it was a large and not the signature turtle i hard ordered. what i was given had bananas and reeses. many other times we catch it before we pull off and go inside to have them fix it. usually the manager is who is up front which is how we know its typically her shift that causes these mistakes. this freddys also does not put fry seasoning on the fries anymore. i dont know what thats about because the bardstown road location does, and when we say extra fry seasoning in hopes the middletown location will put ANY seasoning on the fries, they just give it to us in packets. anyway love freddys my man put me on, but a mistake has been made almost every time we have been recently. and them are only a...
Read moreMiddletown location not up to par with Freddy’s in other places. When they first opened, they were slammed so we gave them a month or so to get settled in. Been to many Freddy’s locations in other states and Bowling Green. Always great food great service. Our first visit to Middletown the food was cold, and we just wrote it off to an anomaly. But this last visit was no better. Fifth in line for drive-through and it took over 20 minutes. You would think with that kind of wait they were cooking to order and the food would be hot. But again cold burgers, and were way oversalted. When we got to the drive-through window, there was not a shortage of employees, there were at least five I could see, and three of them goofing off and throwing stuff around with each other. The reason I am writing this review here on Google, is because I went to their website and filled out a Store comment on my experience. It has been a week or so and not one follow up or response. It is unfortunate because both Burger King in Captain D’s and probably soon to be Arby’s right in that area, all fallen victim to closure because of quality...
