First time here..I couldn't wait to come and check this place out. It was on the restaurant week this year. The menu sounded amazing!! So had a days out and I was asked about suggestions I said this place. Everyone was excited after reading the menu. The waitress was nice but after seeing others get their food after us. One couple got their food and they were 45 mins after us. We stopped the waitress and asked for an update on our food. She then informed us oh I forgot to put your ticket in and was taking other orders so you are 3 to 4 tickets behind. My brother in law said well expedite our food. A few minutes later the manager came by asking how experience is. We told him and he said she is 10 hours in and he apologizes. Gets us more drinks and checks on our food. Sometime later here comes our food. My food was great. We ordered dessert. Requested our bill and saw there was nothing compensated off our bill. Any other restaurant especially more upscale. They would of offered. Dessert. The whole ticket would of been absorbed something. We had to ask for the manager. He came over a little agitated. My brother in law expressed concern of why at least out desserts weren't free. We weren't asking for the whole bill to be reversed. But acknowledge the delay and error. He asked if the whole table felt that way. We all said yes. We shouldn't of had to ask the waitress for an update to find out she made an error. If she made an error she could of told us and then stated she will expedite it something..anything..not leaving us in the dark and noticing the newer customers getting their food. He did finally give us our desserts for free and gave my brother in law a free dessert too. Hopefully, next time will be better. The caramel apple...

We went here for dinner for the first time Sunday evening. Since we have never been I thought I would call since I saw on Google you can reserve tables. But when I called the phone number, it didn't work. So I reserved a table just in case. When we got there it was pretty slow so we were able to be seated right away even without the reservation. I told the waitress about the phone and she told the manager. He acknowledged it and called it himself and he was also confused on why it wasn't working. He thanked me for informing him so he can figure it out. I think right away I was impressed with the leather bound menus. So we ordered drinks and the fries which is below. They were very good! Then we ordered our food which came pretty quick. My brisket was flavored very well but not as tender as I would have liked. I tried my sons Mac and cheese and I was not a fan and neither was he. It was slightly undercooked with the noodles not soft all the way through and the falvor was off somehow. The waitress was kind enough to substitute it out for fries. My youngest liked the chicken strips though. My oldest almost finished that whole burger with the exception of the pickles. He's a little sheltered and has never had pickled cucumbers. I thought they were great though! My husband couldn't quite finish his ribs but throughly enjoyed them. Of course I had to comment on the BBQ being from the south we take BBQ pretty seriously and it definitely passed the vibe check. I definitely liked the original way more than the sweet and smokey. Overall, I highly recommend this place based on the service. Obviously it's important to have fantastic food but I will go to a level 2 restaurant with outstanding...

Usually liked this place, so much so, I decided to skip the traditional Thanksgiving Day meal and order (2 weeks ahead of time) 75$ worth of food for "pick-up" on TG day. Ordered the food, got e-mail confirmation to pick up 11:45am TG day.

-Day before TG day, ANOTHER email confirm to pick up tomorrow at 11:45am

-Drive there, doors closed, call the number on the email, Message says, "We are open only at Gahanna location today." Err, drive over to Gahanna location, CLOSED! WHAT?

-After 45 minutes of wasted driving went home and can't get food bc all places are closed or pre-ordered meals!

-Next day call a different number that was on my credit card transaction receipt. Picks up and it is owner of B and B. Seems a legit mistake that they didn't make it clear that they were not open in several different ways. Somewhat takes responsibility for it.

-Makes clear he will refund my purchase AND give a Gift Certificate for my troubles. COOL!

-Refunded the next day...Thanks!

-3 days goes by but not gift card in my email so I text again asking if he sent it bc I didn't receive it. He responds, "not yet, will definitely by the end of today. That was Thursday. it is now Sunday and still nothing.

-Mistakes happen, sucky timing of the mistake as it pretty much ruined our TG day. But, to clearly be inattentive in the proceeding interactions shows the FIRST mistakes were not 1 off.

Won't shop here again and tell everyone I know of...

We chose Barrel and Boar for my son’s rehearsal dinner which took place last Friday night. We’re so glad we did. From start to finish, the process was easy. This was especially important to me since I was planning the rehearsal distance from afar - in Franklin, Tennessee. The interior space is casual and tasteful. Melissa handled all my email inquiries and was prompt with her thorough responses. We had 47 guests who fit perfectly in the back portion of the restaurant which overlooks the patio. The food was outstanding. Everything was delicious. We opted for pulled chicken, brisket, brussels sprouts, and their beautiful goat cheese salad. Melissa kindly worked with us to offer alcoholic beverages within reason. Coryn and Sunni were the servers for our party, and they couldn’t have been more pleasant and accommodating. The whole experience was a relaxed and happy addition to our glorious wedding weekend. Melissa allowed me to set up for the event on Friday at 11am, which was a big help since we had to be back in the area at 4pm for the rehearsal at Gahanna Sanctuary, the wedding venue. I have nothing but positive things to say about Melissa l, Coryn, Sunni, the chefs, and the entire staff at Barrel and Boar. It was a fabulous, turnkey experience, and we even ended up with leftovers to enjoy!

Burger & Beer week review 2021. Thanks for participating. It definitely drew us out to the patio on a nice evening during this virus cautious time. We thought about grabbing a happy hour beer at the bar first, but declined because of the crowd. -Note: Happy Hour drink and food specials are good til 6PM only at the bar(see pic). Our masked server Mary was a seasoned professional in a great mood. Really made our contact special. The fried pimento smash burger (see pic) was this years feature. I thought the patty was slightly over cooked, but I like mine medium, and cook to temp was not offered. The fried pimento was unique. Like a thick tomato slice, breaded in cheese stick coating before deep fried. A warm gooey delight of flavor bomb in each bite. It came with no condiment, so unsure of the pairing, I went with a samplings from the BBQ caddy. Green sides are limited so we gently splurged the calories on sharing a side of chips. No sides are included with the burger special. Oh and you can add an extra patty for $2. Enjoy.
