Came here for coffee and a light breakfast. I got the toast of the day, beet hummus and ricotta and my friend got the sandwich of the day, ham and cheese. The toast was good but was pretty expensive at $9. The sandwich was a better deal at $12 and was quite tasty but it had really fibrous, inedible pieces of fennel in it which you had to pick out. I also got a couple pastries and a sourdough loaf to-go. The pain au chocolate was $9 but was ridiculously good, so flaky and buttery! Worth it as a special treat. The food was good but didn't seem worth the price, I think the move for table x bread is going for the freshly baked pastries and breads instead of ordering the toasts/sandwiches. Their bread is so good, crispy and crusty on the outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend the sourdough. The drip coffee was also worth it, very flavorful and reasonably priced. Read moreThis place makes the best bread in Salt Lake City, hands down. No contest. No competition. Highly recommend their bread.
However, for being as good as it is, they are not adequately serving the public and it's incredibly frustrating how few hours AND days they're open.
Please open earlier, stay open longer, and be open 7 days a week. It's 2023 and the world needs this bread every/any day of the week.
Further, they could easily take online orders in advance, and have a higher success in inventory/sales. They're missing out on revenue.
If it weren't for the unavailability in hours and selling out too soon, this is a 7-star out of 5 bakery.
(hint! Open up in the old Granary bakery space near 9/9th and 11E, that hood desperately needs you to open a...
Read moreFirst off Sourdough and pastries won James beard nominee, and the taste reflects that consistently!
Coffee and ambiance are amazing as well, beautiful gardens and interior design, great beans from Idle Hands Roasting in SLC.
Execution on drinks is nice, I had a mocha, they made their own chocolate, and all flavorings in house, this mocha was one of the best I’ve had.
Overall my drink was made well, with temperature, milk consistency, and espresso flavor. 10/10.
Service was lovely, bread to take home, and some toast with house made butter and jelly, hard to beat!
Definitely try it, then get dinner upstairs at night! Come early for pastries as they often sell...
