(Written by wife) I have been eating Sugar Mama Ice Cream almost since she started. I was even asking her if she catered weddings back when my boyfriend and I were only dating for 6 months and Sugar Mama was only at the Farmer’s Market. I was joyous when she started doing weddings that I guess I had to marry my now-husband. There are a ton of flavors to pick from. It was a challenge for us to pick only six! And we had a lot of different dietary restrictions accommodate for our guests and we were able to with the variety that Sugar Mama offers: Vegan, Nut-free, Dairy-free, Gluten-free. Sugar Mama even accommodated us with a pack of gluten-free ice cream cones for our guest. Our flavors were: Smooth Black Sesame, Fresh Strawberry, Guava Lava, Saffron Rosewater Pistachio, P.O.P.P. (peach, orange, pineapple, papaya), and Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet . She even gave us a pint each of Black Sesame and Strawberry to us newlyweds! (Those did not last long because we ate it!) We also worked to have a zero-waste wedding so no cups and spoons, just ice cream cones. Very accommodating.

Her ice cream is delicious. It has a very fresh and smooth taste. You are not overwhelmed by sugar or additives. We have converted many of our family and friends. We don’t give gifts anymore; we buy pints of ice cream! You should have seen the ice cream line at our wedding. Guests were getting ice cream and then back in line to eat and wait for more. People were trying to sneak ice cream in before dinner was even served! We are 10+ months married now and our friends and family still talk about the ice cream at our wedding.

Sugar Mama had a very cute setup. There was an ice cream cart with umbrella, decorations, and the ice cream flavor signs matched our wedding theme. Her helpers serving the ice cream were awesome to work with that evening.

And myself as a person who is an overplanner, Renisa answered all my questions and was flexible and understanding to work with. My husband and I half-joke with friends we need another big party so we can cater ice cream again. :) But luckily Sugar Mama is at the Farmer’s Market and has her store now (I go often if I haven’t stocked...

Finding Sugar Mama Desserts was like finding a hidden gem!

My little daughter loves ice cream but she's very picky about the flavor, not sugary but tasty, that's what she likes. So we were previously continuously driving to different places... not anymore; Sugar Mama delivers!

We were looking around for handcrafted options and found this little shop in the middle of a huge mall. Since then, we have come every weekend and we keep trying different flavors... ALL of them are AWESOME!

At first, I didn't like how they rotate flavors, but they have so many. Now, I appreciate that it motivates me to try different flavors once in a while.

Each different option sparks creativity in the design. The combinations Sugar Mama offers are from another world. Yuzu Meringue Pie... who manages to put together Yuzu and Pie in ice cream? Honey Lavander Blueberry... what? Fresh Guava... delicious! Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet... my daughter makes us buy pints! And the list is LARGE... and all of them are impressive. I cannot even tell you which one is my favorite yet, I just can tell you, you wouldn't go wrong on any selection.

To limit Renisa’s ice cream and service to only 5 stars doesn’t do her team and work justice; I would give her a hundred stars if I could. I recommend Sugar Mama Desserts with the utmost confidence and trust that your guests will rave about it for weeks to come. Renisa served at our wedding for 300+ guests and everyone came back for seconds or thirds, saying that they couldn’t decide which flavor was their favorite because they were all so good. This is true and also very consistent, because we even visited her shop in Milpitas just to have ice cream after dinner on multiple occasions, and her flavors never disappoint. This is by far our favorite ice cream we’ve ever had, and will continue to be a strong supporter of Sugar Mama Desserts. The process to book them for our event was also super simple and actually very enjoyable, with an in-depth tasting of 30+ flavors and Renisa’s super sweet staff.
