UMe | Tea & Snacks — Restaurant in Milpitas

I ordered delivery and added boba pearl to each drink order but did not get pearls. The order sticker on the cup even said “Pearl”! The strawberry matcha milk tea BARELY had any strawberry in it. So basically my strawberry matcha milk tea with matcha ice cream had barely any strawberry, no boba, and also the ice cream was allllll melted.

Drinks look good in the pictures...but even the taste is okay. I asked for 50% sweetness and it was bland! Maybe bc it was obviously missing components that make this drink good since I order this at every other boba place. Wanted to give this place a try bc it looked fun and had a variety of unique options but the no boba and lack of core ingredients - gets a 1 star unfortunately. Especially since I ordered delivery, I couldn’t go back and tell them to remake my drink (the way I ordered it). I also ordered the Oreo brûlée boba drink but there’s no actual brûlée on top (usually brûlée is on top and torched). And also the matcha drink came in a smaller cup than the Oreo brûlée drink but both were under the “milk tea” section so not sure why it was in a smaller cup. Super disappointing overall.

Recommendation: stick to what you know and honestly, I’d just go to Gongcha or Yifang Taiwan boba places which are in the same shopping center. Gongcha has brûlée drinks that I love!! It’s on top...

Very excited ume tea(U & Me ;) ) shop recently opened in Milpitas Square! Very cute store and super great taste milk tea store! ! Their fruit tea is made from fresh fruits! Personally, I really liked the peach green tea(桃之夭夭), though white peach is out of season, so need to switch to other milk teas(mochi red bean milk tea is my new favorite :D ), and wait for fresh peach next year Ordering is easy and convenient! There’s a Kiosk in the front, I can order by myself without contacting others, which is very needed and helpful during the special pandemic time! Though there was one time we had a question, I went to the other side with ordering in person(with glass protection to keep distance), the front desk person was kind, and responsible, also very nice to give good suggestions to my friend(new customer) ! They would also nicely say “Thank You” when people picking up the orders! Sometimes, during weekend, they were very busy, but they still try to see whether there’re people waiting, and do their best to avoid people waiting for too long, which I really appreciate and understand for their hard work, and trying to serve their best! As it’s not just in-person orders, but also online orders.

I saw this location on TikTok and I was immediately obsessed with the cup with the plush/stuffed animal at the bottom of the cup. Unfortunately I didn't realize this cup was only available for the milk tea drink. I'm allergic to milk and I'll break out in hives that are a total inconvenience. I would have loved to see this cup/surprise option for more drink types OR at least give the option to substitute the milk.

Maybe this is an option but we ordered via the tablet and there were no substitution options.

Aside from this the vibe is a dream! I love the characters and how cute the shop looks. HOWEVER it is extremely small, they do have a feature that you get a text when you order so you don't have to be crammed inside waiting for your drinks. The menu is a really good size with a ton of options. I was going for the cup (mentioned above) so I was surprised when we ordered that they had a really good sized snack/food menu!
