Today we dined at Xian and unfortunately, my experience was not as delightful as I had hoped. While the ambiance and service were decent, I encountered a concerning issue with the food that left me quite dissatisfied.
During my meal, I discovered a small iron wire in one of the dishes I ordered. This was undoubtedly a shocking and unpleasant surprise, and it raised concerns about the overall quality and safety of the food preparation. After bringing this matter to the attention of the staff, I was disappointed to find that they did nothing to address the situation.
As someone who values transparency and open communication, I had expected the restaurant to take immediate action to rectify the issue and assure me that it was an isolated incident. However, there was no acknowledgment of the problem or any attempt to make amends for the lapse in food quality.
While the rest of the meal was satisfactory, the incident with the iron wire overshadowed the overall dining experience. Food safety should never be taken lightly, and it is crucial for establishments to demonstrate accountability and responsiveness when such incidents occur.
Despite this unfortunate encounter, I am willing to acknowledge that Xian has potential and may have redeeming qualities in other aspects. However, the lack of concern and resolution regarding the iron wire in the food left me feeling uneasy and hesitant to return for another dining experience.
I hope that Xian takes customer feedback seriously and uses this incident as an opportunity to implement more stringent quality control measures. While my rating remains at four stars, I urge the management to address this issue promptly and ensure that it does not recur...
Read moreXi’an Kitchen is hands down my favorite spot for hand-pulled noodles in the Bay Area! The flavors are rich, bold, and incredibly satisfying, making every dish feel like a true comfort meal. The noodles have the perfect chewy texture, and the broths are deeply flavorful, packed with just the right blend of spices and aromatics.
One of the best parts about ordering here is the ability to customize your meal online, so you can pick exactly what you want and tailor it to your taste. Whether you prefer extra toppings, spice levels, or specific ingredients, the process is super convenient and ensures you get the perfect dish every time.
We’ve tried the special pork noodles, lamb soup, pork burger, and several other dishes, and every single one has been fantastic. The pork noodles are hearty and flavorful, the lamb soup is rich and comforting, and the pork burger is crispy on the outside with juicy, seasoned meat inside. No matter what we order, everything is always fresh, delicious, and served quickly.
Beyond the amazing food, the service is efficient, making it a great option whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. If you’re a fan of authentic Xi’an-style cuisine, this place is an absolute must-try. I’ll definitely keep coming...
Read moreFood 5 stars. Service 1 star. Overall 5 stars. Authentic traditional Xi'an food. Very well-done. The best Xi'an food in the Bay Area in the opinion. I highly recommend the lamb cumin burger and hot oil noodle.
The service quality was mediocre in general. The service capacity seemed to be a big problem though. There is always a long wait outside, yet I overheard the owner told people to take their time, as the restaurant literally could not make food fast enough. At some point, they even locked the door to stop people from coming in (,which btw was obviously violating the fire safety regulations). The owner should think about how to nail the business and service, not just the food. At this point, they are really just struggling with their operations.
In a nutshell: If you are looking for Americanized Chinese food or good service, this is not the place. If you are looking for good-quality legit Xi'an food, this...
