The lox bagel eaten in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the most expensive I've ever had in my world travels at $18 although I'm hoping it's just peak inflation. I mean, do we really want $25 bagel sandwiches? But i get it. Luckily I'm pretty bougie so this wasn't a deal breaker. I was just excited to eat a NY quality bagel on the third coast. Verdict: the everything bagel's seasonings popped out more than the one from Allie Boys down the street. The bagel itself, on the svelte side, reminded me of the famous Montreal variety-- the kind that can be found at places like St. Viateur. I loved it! Side note: they have $8 bacon or sausage egg and cheese bagels that are just as exciting. I look forward to coming back. 2024 update: if you are ever going to try to cow tongue I'd recommend you entrust Hens Deli with the job. Their lengua torta uses fantastic bread and all the ingredients are fresh and light.

Went there for the first time today and almost ordered everything on the menu. A delicious curry bagel loaded with the most palatable mixture of fresh and roasted vegetables, was the highlight of my day. I will for sure be going here in the future to try more vegetarian and vegan options, as well as getting that bagel again. Just an amazing little spot in the heart of Milwaukee that is definitely worth the stop. (Their meat options looked amazing too)

Great sandwiches and great service - what more could you ask for? Staff was friendly and food was delicious. We had the Italian and the American, both were excellent! Highly recommend this place if you’re in the market for a high quality sandwich. Can’t wait to come back and try some of their other menu items such as the bagel with lox or breakfast sandwiches

Fresh, high quality ingredients + generous portions = fantastic sandwiches at good value. They use freshly made, local ingredients, and it shows. We've made a habit of their Classic Torta (great with any meat, including the seitan), where the beans, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and peppers build a beautiful mix of textures and flavors. Everything is made to order, so expect to wait a few minutes for food that is totally worth it. A wonderful neighborhood spot worth visiting repeatedly. Great vegetarian options, too!

1-year update: my original review holds and then some. Outstanding people making outstanding food....

Hoping kinks in customer service improve over time because the food is good. I was barely acknowledged while standing at the counter. Was eventually told bagels were sold out. A savvy salesperson may have suggested alternatives. Not so here. When I asked about alternatives I was encouraged to read the sign. Despite being told bagels were sold out, the bagel levantine sandwich was available. The curry bagel was delicious and perfectly chewy. I requested extra napkins and was told there were napkins in the bag already. Summary: food is good, customer service has room for...
