My wife and her friends went here today and I was very disappointed by the odd and inconsistent service. If someone asks for a spoon, they do not need to give a reason why, and it should not take 30 minutes. The need, mixing cream and sugar into a coffee that was too floral for her taste, is moot when the coffee is gone or cold by the time a spoon arrives. The Croque Monsieur was wonderful but some more non-pork menu items would go a long way. The staff also blatantly lied to my wife and friends about the second floor not being available for seating, despite the upstairs being what they were excited to be there for (beautiful space, lots of Insta pics). After being seated they saw three groups of people with no reservations walk to the second floor and confused with the fact that they’d been lied to. The bathroom was another questionable experience for my wife and her friends. The toilet paper rolls were empty, yet a half-used roll was left on top for customer use. And a bunched up paper towel on the credenza made them wonder what the actual level of cleanliness was. Overall the location was lovely, the food options seemed limited but had some bright spots, and the service was so bad that will never spend a dollar there prior to some operational changes being announced. I am normally a very positive person for reviews and wish to always lift up bright spots in our communities, but how people treat each other speaks...
Read moreHad a wonderful time at Milly’s! The decor is quaint but comfortable with lots of Mucha artwork on the walls and a stocked bookcase at the front. There is a 2nd floor and I was pleased to see they have an elevator for accessibility.
I even chose 2 mystery wine challenges from the menu- the Find Ron Burgundy and the Guns and Rosé challenge. What a fun and unique idea! And not to brag or anything but I won both and was awarded a button. 😎
The whipped ricotta was okay. The chocolate mousse was very good. The deviled eggs were incredible- I am a deviled egg expert and these are among the best I’ve ever had! The prices are decent for a wine bar- one of my wines was a delicious Granache at $9 a glass and all of our food items were $10 or under.
Bonus points for serving the check within a book- the passage that was marked in our particular book seemed fitting to the current theme of my life so it was very cool to read through it a bit and now I must buy a copy!
Our server was great, I was asking a lot about wine and engaging about the mystery challenges and he was friendly and fun.
The wines were all simply delicious! I will definitely revisit on a Wednesday for their wine discount and a...
Read moreWe have reservations to come here with friends in a couple weeks' time, but as we were in the neighborhood today, we decided to drop by and check it out. It was a sunny Wednesday afternoon and we managed to get parking on the street right outside. They were busy but offered us a place on the outdoor patio. Service was friendly and efficient, with a knowledgeable sommelier too. Food was awesome - lots of small plates to pick from. Wine, as you'd expect from a wine bar, was excellent. In addition to a comprehensive wine list, they have some fun offerings, like the trio of half flutes of sparkling wine I chose: you get a prosecco, a domestic sparkling wine and a champagne, and you have to guess which is which. They do a similar wine pairing too, with 2 half glasses of red or white wine - and again you can try to figure out which wine matches the description you read on the menu. The burrata was very tasty, as was the mini cheese board. Overall, the place has a relaxed vibe and friendly staff, with great food. So glad we already have reservations to return soon - I have a feeling this will become a favorite...
