I've visited MPLS many times from NYC and this time I had a very 'interesting' experience.
The good: Very cheap drinks and festive atmosphere. Everyone in there is having fun.
The bad and ugly: I suspect that they have a racist door policy.
Upon entering the bar, one of the bouncers asked me to lift up my shirt. I found this very odd and asked myself, "does he think I have a weapon?" After grabbing a beer, I walked back over near the entrance and watched as other patrons entered, carefully observing whether the bouncer asked the same question. He didn't. I finished the beer and exited the bar. I then asked the bouncer what was the purpose of him asking me to lift my shirt. He said they have a no-sagging policy. I was shocked as many people describe me as preppy and I've never "sagged". I quickly realized this was a way of limiting Black people from entering the bar as this is a style shared by those fashionable/trendy/professional or not. It's a common practice to find out what is popular among Black people and use that to define a so-called dress code. I found this ironic because Sneaky Pete is very divish and all the patrons were dressed EXTREMELY CASUAL.
The bouncer continued by saying he asks lots of people to lift up. I replied by saying he didn't ask a single parton to lift up his shirt since I've been there and I had been watching the door the whole time. Sensing where I was going, the bouncer said "I'm not racist". I replied, "The fact that you offered that statement on your own says that you are." It's true, he might not be racist but he was enforcing the suspected racist policies of...

They had 3 polls to dance on. And my friends and I had a great time!! đș honestly, if you like to party and have fun, come here.
Music: The DJ was playing a wide selection of songs, and they all were good, in my opinion. I'm not sure if they do request I didn't ask.
Drinks: They had specials going on throughout the night. I had $5 shots. White claw was like $5 or $6. They also did free shots every so often, but they are shots from the bottle (if you are sick, I wouldn't do it)
Service: From the bouncers to the bartenders, they were really friendly. All great attitudes and vibes.
Atmosphere: The crowd was pretty decent and got bigger through the night. If you come early like my friends and I. You might be the first dancing (we didn't mind, lol). But people were still there just shy and not wanting to be the first, lol. But later in the night, more are on the floor, so if you're more shy, you can pop in later.
Extra: they have a back patio to get some fresh air. We didn't know about this, so we kept walking out of the club and coming back in. One of the bouncers had to...
Read moreplayed a show here not expecting much since they recently started doing live music, but my experience was so much worse than what I thought would happen. The sound guy (forgot his name) scolded me in front of everyone that I needed to sing louder and he could hear everyone else. Then my friends heard him saying about me âshe does not know how to use a microphoneâ come to find out AFTER the show, he comes up to me and apologizes with âhey so someone accidentally pressed the wrong button so you werenât even in the mix my badââŠ?????!!! at this point iâm just like wtvr but the next band came on and the peteâs people got SO angry because they were playing loud. they cut the singers mic and were throwing a fit and refused to turn vocals up until maybe the last 15 minutes of the set. atmosphere was so weird, they had no door people and NO BOUNCER so they had the bands take turns at the door having to deal with potential angry inebriated people. the sound system wasnât great and feedback was awful but it somehow was always the performers fault not the sound guys. just super lame. maybe theyâll get better with more shows but meanwhile, sneaky peteâs MAYBE donât book punk bands if what you want is...
