Easy to find. Good location. Clean. Nice bar area, as well as indoor and patio seating. Decent tacos. My compliments end there.

However, I had several issues with my experience here.

  1. The salsas had absolutely ZERO heat to them. NONE. If you choose to order chips, you'd do better requesting ketchup.

  2. The service here is terrible. The manager doesn't more time speaking with everyone else, he barely paid any attention to me. And I informed him this was my 1st time here. FYI, those chips and salsa I ordered... Took 20 minutes to arrive. Turns out, they were prepared. Sitting on the line. He forgot them. At least those were removed from my bill.

  3. Website says $3 tacos. No restrictions. Now they're $4? That's not my problem. But he them says that steak and brisket are regular price. You're the manager, update your website. False advertising ain't cool.

  4. My orders, I requested NO AIOLI on my tacos. I'm a traditionalist. Not interested in AIOLI or any sort of mayo on my tacos. Find a way to make the meat most without mayo. Please. 1 of my tacos had AIOLI on it.

  5. When I needed my phone to be charged, he was polite to take it behind the counter to charge it. Problem is, when he opened a beer for another customer, the splash went right onto my phone case. Thankfully, I had a case on my phone. But completely unprofessional. No apologies. No nothing.

Left in disgust. Refused to tip 1 single dime. Needless to say, I will never return to this establishment. EVER. I advise you to do the same.

PS: I accidentally left my charging cord there. I'm so disgusted with this place, I have NO DESIRE TO RETURN TO GET IT. I'll simply...

The food was very good, but the service was incredibly slow. The place was pretty busy for a Monday night and there were only three front of house staff working. Too bad they don’t take reservations for all party sizes. If they did, they would’ve been prepared and had more staff to accommodate everyone properly. We were seated, told we would be given water, and were forgotten about for around twenty minutes. No one even stopped by to let us know if someone would be with us shortly. Also, our water never came. I finally asked another server for water and she ended up telling our server about it instead of getting us some. From there, our server forgot and never brought us any. I eventually had to kindly ask our server again if we could please have some after I watched her offer to fill up water glasses for another table that had already paid their tab. At this point, we had our food, but nothing to wash it down with. We felt completely ignored the entire time we were there. Lastly, since there were only three service staff, I watched all of them go from bussing dirty tables to delivering hot food from the kitchen window. It was concerning that no one washed their hands after touching dirty rags/plates. Again, like I said in the beginning the food was tasty, but the service was lacking. I do not blame the front of house staff as they were obviously inexperienced. All in all, they just weren’t set...

We were in the area for a conference for the week and this was the first place we stopped at for lunch after we checked into our hotel. Our amazing server, Virgina told us all about the things to do and eat in the area. Also that they had taco Tuesdays. $3 tacos!?! Say no more. We went back on Tuesday, and again on Thursday. Everything we had from here was delicious. The chorizo beans come with homemade tortillas was super filling and delicious. The chimichangas with pork pastor comes with a savory consommé. The pan seared chimichanga with flavorful and tender pork has a little kick. Paired with the sauces and fresh ingredients was the perfect harmony. I didn’t expect the tacos on taco Tuesday to be as filling as they were. I got mine with the homemade flour tortillas. They didn’t skimp on the ingredients! The Baja fish taco had a lightly battered mahi that paired well with the crunchiness and freshness of the cabbage and sauce. The chicken tinga was an explosion of flavors with a healthy size serving of tender shredded chicken. The beef brisket was savory and tender. The mushroom burrito was super filling with well seasoned mushrooms and potatoes paired with a delicious tomato like sauce that has a slight kick. It tasted even better then I added the super hot sauce on it. Don’t forget to ask for the hot sauce!! Overall if we ever came back to Minneapolis, this would be a must to...

Sonora Mexican Restaurant is a culinary haven that beautifully marries traditional Mexican flavors with modern flair. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, from expertly seasoned tacos to rich, savory mole sauces, all prepared with the freshest ingredients. Each dish reflects the chefs' dedication to authenticity and quality, making every meal a memorable experience. The hand-made tortillas and carefully selected produce stand out, and the drink menu, featuring a variety of margaritas and tequilas, pairs perfectly with the vibrant flavors of the food. The restaurant's ambiance is equally impressive, with vibrant decor and a welcoming atmosphere that make it a perfect spot for any occasion. Whether you're stopping in for a quick lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner, the attentive service and lively environment enhance the overall dining experience. Sonora Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the true taste of Mexico with a contemporary twist.
