This review is only for event that I attended while visiting Minnesota a few weeks ago. I attended the Candle Light Experience, "Adelle" at this venue. This was a perfect collaboration with the church and Candle Light. I was blessed to be in town to see the performance.
The church architecture is absolutely beautiful, equally the same inside. They have parking on the side of street, make sure you pay the meter, it was only $2 for 2hrs. The cheapest parking you will find in the whole city. Follow the ticket directions and follow signs once you get to church. This will help you go in the correct door for the show. The ushers will help you with your seating area once checked in. Service was welcoming and bathrooms were clean.
The show started on time and was fabulous, the musicians performed beautifully rendition of Adele. I definitely would attend a show here again in the near future. I sat upstairs in the balcony area, perfect view and sound was excellent.
If you get a chance go see a Candle Light show, it was a...
Read moreI never thought I would write a review about a church but I attended this in late September for a special service held on a Monday night as PCUSA was holding its annual conference across the street at the hotel.
When I walked into the building, it was a cold reception. Marble everywhere, chandeliers, statues, fancy artwork. I'm not saying a church has to look like a shack to serve God but this certainly did not look like a church. It felt empty
No matter how much I took in the mass structure's man-made beauty, I couldn't sense the presence of God in this church as I do at mine back home. It was a hollow, uninviting, large fancy building.
The message also left much to be desired. The people as well were far too distracted on their phones. I don't support churches who choose to be "progressive" and try to insist that homosexuality has a part in Christianity. The only part it does have is Leviticus 18:22 NIV.
If you desire to encounter and worship the living God, do not go here. Let the LORD guide you...
Read moreCame here as part of Doors Open Minneapolis. There wasn't anything going on at the time I went, but the building itself is architecturally fascinating. The two halves of the building were built over a century apart, yet come together relatively seamlessly. The church has an inward looking feel to it with its large dome and circular stained glass windows. The pipe organs you see are for show. The real pipes (nearly 5000 I believe) are beyond the ornamental pipes and some are from as far back as the 1920s. The circular layout is very distinct from the other churches like St. Mary's and St. Mark's in the area.
The newer section of the building has a very sleek modern look with bright naturally lit spaces and modern furniture. Very...
