Culver's — Restaurant in Mobile

All I can say is wow, after all the hype I decided to try this place, placed an online order for the mushroom and Swiss and I was excited since you can hardly find a place that still offers this burger. The instructions said self service pick so I walked into the store looking for that pick up location but couldn't find so I went to the counter. Scene as follows, 1 customer ahead of me, no one acknowledged you in anyway. 4 young workers behind the counter 2 of them facing kitchen one bagging food and the other with a drink in his hand. The other 2 just slacking around talking and ignoring me and the other customer, finally 20 minutes later another lady show up to the register and start helping the other customer, about 5 minutes later one of the other younger girls decide to finally help me so I tell her I have a pick up and give her the name she look lost and go around for a couple of minutes then bring me my food, she have to go make the root beer float, I see here walking to fountain drinks machine, filling the cup, going back to ice cream stand then few time she go back and forth spilling some of the root beer cup then refilling it then stopping for a bit to talk to her co-worker. Finally I'm out of the store with my food and a messy root beer float thanks to her. Mushroom and Swiss burger, very disappointing, very greasy and very nasty looking, no flavor so whatever, even lack basic spices like salt. Root beer float doesn't look like one or taste like one. I pulled in to the drive-though and waited about 4 minutes and no one ever spoke to me. The screen was off, so I pulled around to the window once a line of cars had formed a traffic jam behind me. There was also no one at the window.

I parked and ordered a curbside order instead. It said my food would be ready at a specific time. The order did not come, and I waited an additional 8 minutes past the specified time. I then went inside to the restaurant where there were 3-4 people behind the counter. One was taking orders, and the others were demanding various things from the kitchen staff and appeared frustrated for various reasons.

My order sat in the order window while I waited. No one greeted me. I waited in the order line so that I would be served and acknowledged. After I spoke to the cashier, the woman who appeared to be a supervisor at the food window retrieved my order and told me "I didn't see it" even though she had been standing in front of it the entire time I stood there and waited. No friendliness or apology from from her or anyone else. I received weird looks from everyone as if I had done something wrong. I was friendly and understanding.

Your staff is consistently miserable and confused at every location, and this is indicative of poor training and treatment of employees. It's a company-wide problem. I received coupons for Culver's in the mail. It's difficult to find a good burger in Mobile. The ad looked interesting so me and a friend went to Culver's. For a chain restaurant the burgers were really good. The products used to create the items on menu seemed far above other chain burger establishments. The menu is extensive . The coupons worked and the staff was very helpful. Not just to us but the staff worked as a team helping figure out coupons. ( I am not a fan of coupons) They are confusing. However the food was good. The Root beer is really good and the Custard is good. If you haven't been to Culver's, Culver's have a rack full of menu's while your waiting to be served go over one before ordering save time and confusion. We returned today for lunch the same good experience the burgers turned out a bit out of shape but I think that's a part of making fresh burgers. On cheese Curds. I wish they sold them unfriend just natural, like they do out west and Midwest. They are really good. Much better than fried in my opinion. Onion rings are good at Culver's. The chicken sandwich was not really dressed but very good and they keep grease for frying fresh. Which added to the end result of good deep fried everything we ordered. A good burger. Good staff. I will not hesitate going back. Clean seating area and drink counter. Definitely family oriented and football on the TV. What's not to like?...
