If I could give this place 0 stars I would. When we arrived on Sunday no one was at the host stand. Several employees were present and seemed to be busy at work. They looked our way but did not acknowledge us. After standing at the stand for 13 minutes a nice women who had made eye contact with us several times came over and said I will sit you in just a moment, she did just that. The main floor had about 15 people in the dinning room, with plenty of room to sit more people at a table or the bar. We sat at the bar. We waiting another 20 minutes for the bartender to take our drink order and place an oyster order. Only 3 other patrons were sitting at the bar in addition to my party of 2. We did receive our oysters in a timely manner. At that point the kitchen seemed to be working well. Before we received the oysters we placed out brunch order. Shrimp & grits and 1 order of chicken and waffles. After another 40 minutes the chicken and waffles came out. At that time the bartender made me aware that they were out of shrimp. I then ordered chicken wings with a side of grits. I waited another 35 minutes. When my order came it was two chicken thighs not wings. I asked where was the wings she stated they were out. The waiters had been going back and fourth with the chef due to lack of communication and not making them aware they were out of certain items. The server at that time took the charge off for my meal because everything went wrong. I then cut into the chicken thighs and they were raw. Blood was running everywhere and the center was pink. I made the server aware. She apologized and then took my drink off as a courtesy. I end up paying for the oysters and the chicken and waffles. ( FYI the chicken and waffles were very good)
Throughout the visit it was so unpleasant and unprofessional. The severs were asking the chef about their concerns with the food and he is basically screaming at them telling them everything was their fault because they did not put the tickets directly in front of him. He had to reach for the tickets ( however from my sight all tickets were right by him). They were literally arguing one waiter who was also the hostess had to step out and take a breather due to the hostile environment. As we where leaving I informed the chef that the chicken was raw. He proceeded to say "You what to know why the chicken was raw... it's because of your server. She keep asking me why I'm having to wait so long on my chicken and I told her it's because you didn't put the ticket in the right place. So since she keep asking me I gave her the chicken because I was tired of her asking me for something I told her was not done".
As a chef how do you send out raw food knowing that it was not done. This experience was nothing but pleasant. I would have thought giving the experience they would have remove the cost of everything. However they did not. On the way out the chef told us he would remember our face and take care of us when we come back. We do not live in Mobile and if we did we would never come back. This is not how a business should be ran. I also feel bad for the severs. It has to be a uncomfortable environment for them as well. They severs today were two small females, one older and one young. The chef is a very heavy set male. Giving the hostility as a women I would have felt somewhat afraid and extremely...
Read moreI’m not one to complain about bad service or bad food for that matter, but do to the experience me and my wife encountered last night I felt the need to do so! First thing was we received dirty silverware and we let that slide which shouldn’t have occurred by us being the very first guess upon opening! Second we would wait one hour an 40 mins before we received our entrees which were cold when they arrived! Third on top of that changes were made to our order that we didn’t authorize due to the menu not being updated by the manager/owner/ main cook!!! I ordered shrimp I received scallops 🤷🏾♂️ let me remind you the meals are $60 per person! And let me add we ordered more food and drinks to bring our total to $205... But let’s get back the the cold sides so my wife and I explained to waitress that we would just like some fresh sides because we were hungry from the wait and we didn’t want a discount just fresh food! So she relayed the message to the manager/ owner/ main cook! We were expecting her to come right back with fresh sides which didn’t happen 10mins past before she returned so now my wife filet mignon is cold so she tells her let her to speak to the manager because this is unacceptable! So when the manager/owner/ main cook comes to our table my wife precedes to express her disappointment with the service the manager/owner/main cook precedes to tell my wife what she would like to do instead of just listening to her complaints so then things start to get more intense so voices start to rise so my wife said this is what I want you to do you can bring me my bill so I can pay or you can go cook me a fresh meal to go but we not about to go back and forth is what we not going to do! So she still stands there talking so things get louder so the M/O/MC says u can leave so my wife says I will so then M/O/MC says u can’t leave cause ain’t pay so keep in mind we asked her to get the bill twice already and then M/O/MC starts to invade her personal space so me and wife asked her to back up give her 6 feet and she refused so my wife intended her arm to push her back so the M/O/MC says don’t touch me so then she says I’m calling the police so my wife call them and she did tells them that we were trying to leave with paying I can’t make this up! So we paid and waited to police arrived before we left she won’t wouldn’t even come talk to the police the...
Read moreFood was delicious (although oysters were small and some shells were void of oysters), but service was lacking. We noted in two places on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and told the person who seated us the same. When the meal was over, our waitress asked if we wanted the checks. I reminded her that we were celebrating a birthday and asked if she had been told. She said she hadn't and that they don't do anything for birthdays there. Someone should have mentioned this to me the other times I noted it. I then ordered a slice of cheesecake for the birthday girl and said to put it on my check (separate checks.) It took over 20 minutes to get the cheesecake. I found another waitress and asked her to please find my waitress to get the cheesecake. I also asked for six forks. Finally we received the cheesecake. Although I pointed out the birthday girl twice, it was brought to the wrong person with one of fork. We also asked for six plates. She brought dirty plates and didn't clear the table of all of our dinner. I got up and cleared the table while my friend retrieved six forks and plates from other tables. Several of these were dirty also. The menus are retrieved via smartphone. I asked the waitress for a wifi password so I could get the menu. I don't have unlimited data and my husband's phone wasn't working on data. She said she didn't know it and she didn't offer to get it. If the restaurant requires me to use a cell phone to order, they should provide wifi. There were only forks on the table. I asked for knives. She brought one for me only. I complained to the manager while holding my unpaid check (which took a while to get.) She blamed some of the problems on the computer being down for two hours. The only thing that should have been delayed at all was the check. She even said she saw my cheesecake sitting there and confirmed they don't offer birthday desserts because they have a limited dessert menu. They did have some items on the menu and perhaps things are done differently in the Midwest, but restaurants there usually comp birthday desserts. Even if not comped, if dessert is on the menu, it is provided when a birthday is noted. She said she would take care of me they next time I came in. I hadn't yet paid my check. It was in my hand. She should have compensated me right then. Needless to say, the six of us won't be back there on...
