The Soul Kitchen had multiple flash sales going on for a long time which is where my two friends and I bought $15 tickets . My two friends and I stood in line for 3 1/2-4 hours in the ticket line, just for security to close the door on us and say we’re not letting people in. The fire marshall came and shut it down because there was so many people on the side walk....the Soul Kitchen wasn’t even full to capacity ,and they had hundreds of people standing outside. I feel that the Soul Kitchen should know when they say “ all schools” or “ anyone can come”, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO SHOW UP because it’s supposed to be a big party. They know the maximum amount of people who can be in the building which wasn’t even fulfilled. The reason why they closed the door was 1.)There was a huge crowd at the front of the door which messed up the 250 +people including us who was behind them who were in a straight line also huge fire hazard 2.)there were 5 people with fake pictures of tickets on their phone who were trying to get passed knowing they shouldn’t and couldn’t . We paid cash for tickets, so that’s what I expect to get for our tickets since we came to stand outside. I feel that this “event” was unacceptable and unorganized. The Soul Kitchen should prioritize in hand tickets in a orderly fashion at the door, should show distinct lines of the people who wanted to pay at the door, and should dismiss people who won’t comply with the instructions. We are waiting on our refunds because money is hard to come by college for people to come and pay for tickets and some out of state to not set foot inside the building. First impressions are at an all time low, very unsatisfied. I won’t be attending...
Read moreI came to Soul Kitchen to see Sleeping with Sirens. There were alot of people there for VIP but it never felt too crowded and it went very well. I really enjoyed the vip experience which included early merch access, an intimate acoustic session, Q&A, and meet and greet with photos. I was very happy up until Sleeping with Sirens came out to perform. Things got very violent very quickly. A mosh pit formed right behind my me and boyfriend. We were getting pushed so hard I was being crushed. After only listening to 2 of there songs we had to wave security for help we were lifted out of the situation. My other friends who had VIP stayed but left with bruises. Fights were breaking out all around us. I was told to enjoy the show from the back but I couldnt see at that point so I just left. Something needs to change when it comes to the treatment of VIP who spent alot of money. I suggest seating VIP and roping them off so they can enjoy the experience they paid for. This prevents people from cutting infront and most importantly prevents VIP from experiencing harm. Everyone I talked to who had VIP told me they will never come back to Soul Kitchen for a concert and I feel the same. I would do the VIP experience again but not the concert itself. I have been to alot of rock concerts before but this was the first one were I felt like I couldn't enjoy the show due to...
Read morePurchased tickets for a show that got rescheduled due to an unimaginable snow storm in south Alabama. Followed the email’s directions for a refund, because of the date change. Was told via email we wouldn’t get a refund.
Called Soul Kitchen for resolution. Woman that answered the phone at Soul Kitchen then told me “no you didn’t” when I explained that I requested the email prior to the “two day cut off” for refunds. She then instructs me to call ticketweb because they’re good at handling this sort of thing. Ticketweb doesn’t have a number you can call anymore. They’re 100% email only. So if you like timely resolutions, good luck. Piss poor management and communication skills all the way around. Of course I have receipts for all of this & if I could, I’d upload the recorded phone call with the woman at Soul Kitchen, but google doesn’t have that feature for reviews.
Mind you, the initial email for a refund stated your request had to be made only 24 hours prior, not two days, for the refund to be honored.
So if you’re like us, and can’t afford a $100+ loss in this economy, don’t buy tickets in advance to this venue. Seems they’re actively looking for ways to...
