Poke Bowl- Pelandale — Restaurant in Modesto

Went to Costco to get some gas and thought I'd go here for takeout tonight. It was a bit past 7pm. Walk in and felt the vibe was off. The lady seemed annoyed. Maybe they should close earlier if you don't want to be there. Before I'm even halfway through the door, she asks what I want. No welcome, no pointing me in the right direction. .I'm like I need to see a menu, which is perpendicular to the door. Forgive me for not knowing every step and choice by heart. So I choose the 3 scoop and rice as my base. Then ask for salmon as my first choice to find out she has none. I should have just walked out. Especially since there was nothing cooling any of the proteins. So I choose 3 other proteins. They use the mini ice cream scoops here to minimize the amount of fish you get in assuming. Never had a poke bowl with so little fish. I finish my bowl off, pay the $15 and left. What a joke. $15 for a huge bowl of rice and barely any fish. If I can give the place ZERO stars I would. I had written down my order for my husband. Instead of reading the order he decided to give it to the staff to make things easier. I clearly wrote “POKE SALAD (NO RICE)”. My husband waits for the order to be prepared and when he gets home the order is wrong. It’s filled halfway with rice. We called and told them that the order is wrong and if we can bring it back for a redo. They told us they cannot redo the order it remake a new order. We would have to pay full price. I explained that the paper said salad no rice. The staff member said “I’m sorry I read ur order wrong but I cannot fix it. You would have to buy a new one”. EVEN IF IT WAS HIS MISTAKE?!? So you’re telling me if you accidentally put a food allergy in there and a customer asks to change it, they cannot change it? They have to spend another $20 on another freaken bowl?! This place is a joke. The food is not all that good. Protien is dry and chewy, seems old and the sauce is so bland.

I came here for lunch while working in Modesto for the day.

The shopping center was frenetic at lunchtime, most of the parking slots near this business was full, but I managed to snag a spot close by (honestly, I could stand to lose an extra few pounds, so parking further and walking wouldn't have been much of an issue).

I was greeted immediately by a pleasant young lady who was patient enough with me while I looked through the menu. If you've been to other Poke spots, the menu selection is exactly the same.

You select what size you want (basically how many scoops of protein you get, your sauce, toppings, dry toppings, etc.

I randomly selected a few items off the menu. By the time I went to check out,.I realized my bowl was so full, the lid wouldn't properly close over it.
