Every night I drive through Monroe on my way home from work. Tonight I figured I would give IHOP a shot at some quick food. I ordered the food when I was about 15 minutes away and the guy on the phone said it should be about 10 to 15 minutes. After I got there. I waited another 20 minutes which made the time for my order almost 40 minutes. I eventually walked up to the expeditor and asked if she could please check on a chicken Philly cheese steak. She said yes. We were just trying to figure out where it went. She was referring to the sandwich that had been sitting in the window for a while. Whoever rang it up didn't have the ticket with it or however their system works, but at the end of the day it sat in the window for about 10 minutes. I was sitting in the lobby watching it sit there hoping that it wasn't my food. It was my food. The expeditor was very friendly and trying very hard to make everyone happy. She then asked for a black box so that she can make my salad. The salad looks great and I am looking forward to eating it. The chicken sandwich was unfortunately not very good. Nothing was seasoned. The bun got soggy from sitting in the window for 10 minutes. Overall it was disappointing although I haven't had the salad yet. I had a few bites of the sandwich in the car and ended up just throwing it out the window because it just wasn't very good. I'm not going to give up on IHOP by any means because they are on my way home, but I do want you guys to know that there are some improvements that need to be made. That being said, the person that I spoke with on the phone, the manager that helped with my order and the expediter were all very nice people and genuinely cared about my happiness. I truly appreciate that. That. I will definitely be back and hopefully next time they will season the chicken that they're cooking and the peppers and onions and mushrooms that they put on the sandwich. I feel like that is cooking 101, but I've also worked at an IHOP before and I know that not everyone in that kitchen has years of experience under their belt. Thanks for your time and hopefully the next visit will be a little bit...
Read more| remember as a kid walking into the INTERNATIONAL House of Pancakes and having that distinct worldwide feel. I had trouble with the complex "international" menu as it appeared to me then. I would decide on something that I had no clue of what it was There were like 50 flavors of syrup My syrup steward helped me with the selection and recommended a pretty dry maple that was busy but never precocious...
The waiter with a French accent would ask if you would like Ze Bay-Cone or ze zau-sage Ach der lieber! I'm feeling German. Let's go mit der sausage in a move of reckless abandon. I am alive.
The menu has changed a bit since then. Different " international choices and only three different flavors of syrup to choose now if you you are lucky. The price has gone up since then too. That said, the food is still good and the service I had was reminiscent of when | was a kid.
Our waitress was very fast, attentive, efficient, and kind.
You can tell that she is the kind of person who loves her jobs. Those people are so hard to find these days.
Most waiters and waitresses seem to specialize in serving up a dish of attitude at other restaurants, especially in other cities, but I won't mention any names ( Seattle)
Even though you may not get the Flap Jacks Dejour here, I will keep coming back because of the service and...
Read moreWe decided to come in and give you guys a try for the first time since it opened. Well unfortunately it was a horrendous experience. Food was cold, specifically my wife’s French toast. I had the chicken breakfast sandwich with a side of hash browns. Her French toast was so cold that the butter on the side wouldn’t even melt, mind you it’s whipped butter and should easily melt. My food was supposed to come with a small side of gravy. It did not and I had to ask halfway through the meal. Also everything on my sandwich was cold except for the chicken. Now lastly, the soda and service. 4$ for A Fountain drink! Obviously X2 for us, so 8$ for 2 cokes. 10.99$ for 2 pieces of French toast with no sides is crazy. Now the service. Unfortunately, I feel like we got some reverse racism. I didn’t think in my life I was gonna get to ever say that. Our Hispanic waiter was very caring and helpful for those of the same descent as her around us, and there was quite a few. We were shunned and waited excessively for everything we asked about or ordered. Meanwhile, she was very prompt with the other. So to sum this up, it was a absolutely terrible experience. This business should keep in mind that the Denny’s went out of business because they sucked In this exact...
