For years the word at my worksite was that the " taco truck by the railroad tracks" was a little slice of heaven, so I tried it. I think experienced taco nirvana, and it came in the form of a humble, brightly-painted mobile fortress of flavor known as Taqueria La Michoacana Taco Truck.

First off, let's talk ambiance. Forget fancy restaurants with their linen tablecloths and snooty waiters. La Michoacana offers something far superior: the thrilling possibility of eating tacos while dodging cars in a parking lot. It's like a culinary adventure, a real-life obstacle course for your taste buds! For the non adventurous or those seeking shelter from the elements, there is a modest shelter erected by the truck

And the food? Oh, the food. I swear, after one bite of the Carne Asadac, I heard a tiny mariachi band playing in my soul. The meat was so tender, so flavorful, it practically danced the cha-cha on my tongue. I think I even saw a tiny tear of joy roll down my face.

And the price! I could probably feed a small army (well, more like a very hungry me twice) for the price of one lukewarm latte at that other place. This is a taco truck for the people!

Okay, okay, maybe the "decor" isn't exactly HGTV-worthy. You're eating off a paper plate balanced precariously on your lap, and there's a 50/50 chance you'll accidentally drip salsa on your favorite shirt. But honestly, who cares? The tacos are THAT GOOD.

I went during lunch around around 1245. Atleast 6 people ahead of me, a few after. I was greeted with a warm, friendly smile when ordering and at pickup. I felt welcomed, thank you. Total I waited less than 10 minutes. I was given a pager and waited in my vehicle.

The food truck has outdoor picnic tables and a sheltered seating area. Plenty of parking, pretty easy to get in and out of. It is located next to the train tracks; a train went by while I waited and it really wasn't noticeable.
