Cute little cafe with good coffee and good comfort food. We sat on the patio by the road and service was very attentive. They offered a nice and clean high chair for my son. Note the kids menus are laminated, not for play. My family decided to come here because we're visiting the aquarium and this cafe is open two hours before the aquarium. We found a good parking garage between locations on Foam street and just walked down. All the roads were easy to cross with our stroller, but the cafe jas a step to get inside so we didn't try to bring the stroller in and just used a patio table. I ordered a warm cafe mocha which came out in a cute mug and a healthy dose of whipped cream. It was cold outside so the mug was nice to hold until our food came. It tasted smooth and creamy, like a hot chocolate. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with chichen apple sausage. They used a big link and sliced it in three parts for the sandwich. It came with seasoned potatoes and a little peice of fruit. All of our was quite tasty and presented well. I would recommend coming back!

Came here on a Monday for brunch and was not disappointed. I'd heard great things about this small, family-owned cafe, and it lived up to the hype. šŸ’§ Water is complimentary šŸ³ Florentine Egg Benedict I ordered the Florentine Egg Benedict, which was a delightful combination of poached eggs, avocados, tomatoes, spinach, and hollandaise sauce on toasted English muffins. The hollandaise was rich and buttery, perfectly complementing the tender poached eggs. The hash browns were a pleasant surprise – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with a side of watermelon. ā˜•ļø Iced Americano The iced Americano was refreshing and smooth, though the coffee flavour was a bit subdued. I appreciated the server offering creamer, even though I didn't need it. The service was friendly and attentive, and I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. If you're looking for a delicious brunch spot with a cosy atmosphere, I highly recommend giving this cafe a try. Just be sure to arrive early, as they close at 2:00 PM.

A Hidden Gem for Breakfast Lovers! Sunrise Cafe in Monterey is a cozy, welcoming spot that delivers a top-notch breakfast experience. Tucked away on Lighthouse Ave, it’s the kind of place locals love and visitors are thrilled to discover. The menu blends classic American comfort food with flavorful Mexican-inspired options—don’t miss the breakfast burrito with guac and pico de gallo, or the Sunrise Plate for a hearty start to your day. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when the place is buzzing. Indoor and outdoor seating gives you flexibility, and the relaxed vibe makes it perfect for a slow morning. The Belgian waffle with berries is a sweet standout, and the coffee is always hot and fresh. Parking is easy with free 90-minute street spots nearby. Whether you're fueling up before exploring Cannery Row or just craving a great breakfast, Sunrise Cafe is a must-visit in Monterey

Ambiance:

-Sweet and quaint. -A variety of two and four top tables to accommodate solo eaters and large groups. -Not overly loud inside, was able to have conversations at our table and not having to yell. -Also they have a small "breakfast bar" area that looks like it would fit 3 people comfortably, if you didn't want to sit alone at a table.

Service:

-Quick and efficient and so friendly. -Definitely a family feel, which I love. -Never had to ask for a refill on my coffee or any of our drinks. -Order was taken quickly and food was delivered fresh and hot

Food:

Mine-huevos rancheros with carnitas...PERFECTION ON A PLATE. Literally the most well balanced, tastiest, and delicious plate of huevos rancheros I've ever had. And I've had huevos rancheros in LA, OC, SD and SJ.

Hubs-huevos rancheros with chorizo...in hubs words, "this was the best huevos rancheros and I'll order it over and over."

Kiddo-Mickey Mouse pancakes with eggs and bacon..."Yummy in my tummy!"

Hands down...I can recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Five stars.

So, if you're standing in line at the restaurant down the street with a 2 hour wait time, get back in your car and come here. You...
