Was not expecting to find such delicious & authentic ramen in Monterey. Loved that they had plenty of vegetarian & vegan options (4 flavours, with further customisation available). They are careful about dietary restrictions & even offer egg-free buckwheat noodles for a small surcharge. Highly recommend the vegetarian curry ramen (reminded me of Southeast Asian ‘Curry’ flavour Maggi, but way tastier & fresher) as well as the vegetarian spicy ramen. You order at a terminal & can customise your bowl to quite an extent. In addition to ramen, they also have bowls & some sides like edamame. Each ramen bowl comes laden with vegetables - mushrooms, edamame, bamboo shoots, onions, tofu, carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts … and the portions are huge !! Personally felt like two could have shared my bowl of ramen. As a result I took ages to finish it, and yet they were kind enough to patiently wait for me to be done before closing the restaurant (I was the last customer left) - they didn’t put any pressure at all. Would definitely go back.

If you're on the hunt for exceptional ramen, look no further than Toribashi! This place stands as an undisputed champion in town when it comes to serving up fantastic ramen experiences. First off, the portions here are beyond generous. Not only are the servings substantial, but they're also more than happy to provide extra ramen if you're craving more. Trust me, you won't leave hungry after indulging in their delectable bowls of goodness. The hearty portions are a definite win. The popularity of Toribashi speaks volumes about its reputation. The constant buzz and bustling activity in the restaurant underscore its status as a must-visit ramen haven. This is where you'll find locals and visitors alike, all in search of that perfect ramen fix. The stellar customer service further elevates the experience. With efficiency that's second to none, they manage to deliver your food within an impressive 10 minutes. It's clear that they value their customers' time and satisfaction. Make sure to stop by if you're in the area!

Toribashi Japanese Restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere that really sets the mood for an enjoyable dining experience. The decor is stylish, and the ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and Chicken Karaage, and both dishes were outstanding. The ramen had a rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles and tender, crispy pork. The Chicken Karaage was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. However, the service was a bit slow. It took longer than expected to receive my order, and they forgot to bring my drink with my meal, which was disappointing. I had to remind the server, and while they did correct it, the delay took away from the experience. Overall, the food and atmosphere make Toribashi worth visiting, but the service could use some improvement. I’d definitely come back, hoping for a smoother experience next time. 4 stars.

Visiting from Sydney, Australia where prices are pretty exorbitant, but you can definitely find a very good ramen for under 25 aud. Here we spent nearly 20 usd per bowl of ramen after tax, plus the obligatory tip bringing the total to over $60 aud for just two ramen bowls. I'd have expected ramen to be impeccable for this kind of price, but unfortunately it was not even average. First of all, you prepay when ordering at the tablet up front and get your own water - what service am I even tipping for? Probably given that it's already prepaid, service continued to be abysmal. The staff were mostly just standing around chatting, laughing, on their phones. My shoyu ramen came out pretty average and was OK to eat while hungry. The soup was pretty watery and not very rich in flavour.

My partner's veggie ramen came out lukewarm and soup tasted like water with a bit of salt. When asked about the temperature, the staff member just ended up microwaving the bowl. Towards the middle, there was actually just a clump of miso paste which explains why the soup was so bland - clearly the soup hadn't boiled nor been stirred.

The experience was so bad that we just ended up taking the loss and leaving instead of complaining again, considering none of the staff looked like they wanted any part of doing right.

Tl;dr would not bother visiting, food bland, expensive, service abysmal. Never felt obligated to leave so much detail in a...
