We stopped in and the woman asked if we had an appointment at 6 to which we replied "No". We proceeded to establish an appointment for 7 pm. Upon our return, the same woman came out to say it would be 730 pm. It's very frustrating that appointments previously agreed upon are broken. We decided to wait the 30 extra minutes since my husband really needed his upper back worked on. When we were called upon, our feet were immediately put into a foot bath while they finished working on other patrons. We did not receive the relaxing head massage mentioned in another review. I decided a 15% tip was appropriate for the disregard of our appointment time and omission of the head massage. The woman handed back the tip and pointed to their list of preferred tips. Exceptional experience. My massage therapist knew the body, understood how to break up tension and knots, and restore my balance. I felt him spread apart the fibers of my muscles and work out knots in my tendons. I did the 30 minute foot massage and for the first time ever in my life I felt a deep relaxation during massage. I must have dosed off a bit bc I woke myself with a snort, lol. I then moved to the massage room for the body. I could feel the depth of repair that my body needed. I returned 3 days later for 30 min each again to continue the process. I did not have pain or bruising afterwards which I have had at other salons with lesser trained staff. My body purged the toxins released and I feel refreshed. If only I lived in Monterey to continue my journey to healing. The care and attention to addressing the specific needs of my body was superb. Me and my boyfriend came here after experiencing a rubbish foot massage in San Francisco hoping we could make up for that, in which we did. They make you feel very comfortable here and don’t make you feel rushed. They also give you a sheet at the beginning where you can circle the points you want them to focus on most and how soft or hard you would like the massage. This makes you feel like they do care about their customers more than other places! They had nice music on, lovely ambience and it wasn’t loud or uncomfortable.
