We had tried to make reservations here a few times before over the past few years and were not successful. So being able to get a reservation for an upcoming visit was eagerly anticipated with excitement, especially considering all the great reviews. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our 5:45pm reservations on a Saturday night. The place was not at all packed, and there was no issue being seated. Great! We had a show at 7pm and made the staff aware. Beautiful setting and an upscale dining experience was anticipated. Our server introduced himself and proceeded to rattle off the 5-7 dishes on the menu that were not available. What? Not his fault but ah, such a bummer. There was only 1 special offered. The menu is already pretty specifically limited so losing 5-7 choices is huge. Bread and dipping sauces were brought to table, and while fine, nothing extraordinary. Sangria and a draft Stella arrived and we placed an order for a filet mignon with asparagus and a spaghetti poppeltine meatballs, "Brooklyn style". The waiter stated that the pasta was made in house and was so good. The filet mignon ordered medium rare cut like butter and was outstanding. The asparagus tasted fresh and well seasoned. The pasta dish with meatballs was underwhelming at best, outside of the portion size. The meatballs had no taste and lacked any texture or spice profile ; the sauce was lacking in quantity and seasoning. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but I could not discern that it was freshly made. Not at all satisfying. There was NO way that the parmigiana cheese grated was authentic..,so disappointing. Our server said he was new and while he was fine and accommodating, it was not the level of service based on the pricing of dishes and drinks and the reputation of the establishment. The restrooms were clean and some tables have a peek of the open kitchen. It is a lovely and convenient setting, but the food and service fell short and we will not...
Read moreWe came to this restaurant for dinner prior to the Andrew Schultz show this past Saturday evening. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for quite some time. The show was amazing, 10/10, go see Schultz perform! This restaurant too seemed like a treat, which is right by the waterfall in the shops district of Mohegan Sun. However this proved to be a disappointment. We were seated at a tiny table for 2 at an entrance with a ton of foot traffic right by the ‘rock’ formation of the waterfall. The area was cramped and dark. One of the possible worst seats in the place, and according to the GM that night they try to cram as many people in as it was a busy evening. We had a reservation also at 615 and not just walk in. So the seating already set my mind off the place. We also didn’t have an assigned server. We were waiting for at least 15 minutes and I had to ask a waitress passing by if we were going to be served or not. At that point i was giving it 2 more minutes before walking out. Finally Jaime came over to with some water and he checked and sure enough there was no one assigned to the crummy seats we had. He was kind enough to take our order, get all our dishes out and the check ready so we could leave on time to catch the show. Jaime truly made the experience better! Shout out to him, that man deserves a raise! The food itself was also mediocre.. and carries a hefty price tag. We ordered the whipped ricotta which was more of a meal than appetizer. The Rigatoni Al la vodka was nothing special and tasted like a regular dish you could get at Papa John’s. Surprising for a ‘renowned’ chef owned restaurant. We also had the chicken cacciatore which was semi decent. All in all terrible ambience and mediocre food with a hefty price tag. I would not go back...
Read moreOn July 6th, 2025, I dined at Todd English's Tuscany @ Mohegan Sun. I've been there multiple times for dinner and decided to give it another shot despite previous experiences with cold food on a couple of occasions. I've even sent food back because it was dry from sitting under a warmer. Still, I thought, why not give it another chance? I ordered the scallops, and my companion went for the filet mignon. Patrick, our waiter, was a bit abrupt, simply taking our order after briefly mentioning the Specials before leaving. When he came back to take our order, we had a few questions about the menu, but he said he'd have to find out or, as he put it, "we millennials just google it." Our food arrived warm. My scallops were decent, but the lobster garlic mashed potatoes and spinach were dried out from sitting under heat lamps. The filet mignon tasted gamey, like venison, and was tough. We asked Patrick about the type of meat that was served. His response was, "I have to ask the chef." We waited patiently and then asked what the chef said. He replied that the chef was in the office looking it up. I thought if it was filet mignon wouldn't the chef know what he was cooking or did he have to google it. Despite the terrible experience overall, we still gave Patrick a generous tip--yes, in cash, not something you'd find on Google. lol. The ambiance was lacking and gets a thumbs down too. The music was unnecessarily loud, making it hard to enjoy the meal. For the high price tags, you'd expect better, than rude staff, poor service, and food that requires Google to understand, it's safe to say I won't be spending my money...
