Save yourself the trouble and don't dine here. Arrived for dinner after a long day of road tripping. Stood at front of restaurant for about 10 minutes with two waiters who walked right by us without so much as a "will be right with you". My family is fine waiting, but the cold aloof attitude was off putting. The bar tender finally came over and seated us although she forgot the third silverware set. Oh well, at least she did the hostess's job. Then sat for another 5 minutes until a waitress finally arrived. Everyone ordered unsweetened teas. I asked if I could sub a side on the 2 for $30 meal due to a food allergy. She said yes, little did I know it meant half the size of the normal side portion. I ordered the steak, broccoli, and coleslaw. Other family ordered had blackened salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes, and fiesta lime chicken with Spanish rice. We shared the spinach and artichoke appetizer dip and chips with salsa. The waitress literally just brought out the appetizer and we were never offered plates nor checked on to request plates. Salsa tasted like marinara sauce that goes with fried cheese sticks. Dip and chips were okay. Food was brought by someone other than the waitress. My steak was cooked correctly but the seasoning tasted like a salt and pepper shaker were poured on top. The broccoli tasted similar to the steak. The coleslaw was the size of a sauce dipping cup and not at all the size of a full side. Family member's fiesta lime chicken tasted off, and kitchen forgot the pico sauce that came with it. Had to flag down the absent waitress to request the pico. Other family member's salmon meal was actually good. The waitress came by for one tea refill before the food came. Otherwise she didn't come back except to slap down the bill while we were still eating and asked if everything was okay and stalked off before we could respond. When we were ready to pay we wanted to pay cash and waited 15 minutes before the waitress ever came by again. It took her another 10 minutes to find change. Other things we saw were the bar tender bicker with a server about having to leave her station to pick up another server's tables. Watched a large party get seated across from us to the point the party was blocking the aisle. Wasn't the party's fault, and party finally asked if they could have a larger table to not block the walkway area of the restaurant. I have no clue if they cleaned the table the party originally sat at before the next people sat there. Not stopping here again. Save yourself the...
Read moreI have to share this experience with the Mooresville Applebees. I ordered carside to go. Received the text to let them know when I arrived. First, the text will not allow you to reply to the restaurant. There is a link attached to go online to verify, that leads to a blind Applebees link with some disclaimer. Not useful. After calling the restaurant, there is an automated system that is a maze of automated computer responses, unless you want to order food, then they will take your call and you can actually talk to a person. The first girl I talked to ssid she would get someone to help me. After 7-8 minutes the call disconnected. After being on hold a few minutes on the second call, finally a second girl got on and said she would find someone to help me. Minutes later a third girl got on the phone asking what I would like to order. I explained I already had, had paid ans my order had been ready for over 20 minutes, that I just needed it to be brought out. She said she would find some one to help me and put me on hold. Another 7-8 minutes later, over a half hour after the order was ready, she comes back to the phone and asks me to just come into the restaurant to pick it up. I explained I am disabled and on dialysis and told her I ordered carside specifically because I cannot come into the restaurant. She said she couldn't bring it out to me, that she was in a "central location." That she couldn't get ahold of anyone in takeout. How big is an Applebee's? There must have been maybe 8-10 people in the restaurant at 5:30 on a Sunday afternoon, she couldn't walk the 20 seconds over there to talk to someone? What is she, manning the guard post on the Western front or something. Can't leave my post! I asked her to just cancel the order. Since, I have been billed and am disputing the charge. This was the most ridiculous and completely inept botched takeout experience I have ever had. After waiting for over half an hour past when my order was ready for them to just bring it out, the phone tag, subsequently still being charged despite not getting my order, I will NEVER EVER bring my business to this pathetic excuse for an establishment again....
Read moreI read the previous posts and was excited to try this Applebees in hopes it would break the mold of our bad experiences we have had in the past at the chain... It broke the mold all right...unfortunately it was in the other direction we were hoping for. Great atmosphere but that was about it. We had to wait a good ten minutes after receiving our drinks before our waitress returned to take our order. (It was not busy so it was not that she was ultra busy with other tables.) once we finally received our meal it went truly downhill. My kids food was excellent...should have ordered off the kids menu! I ordered the steak stir fry. I ordered the steak Medium and she told me that they usually cook it well per the recipe for the taste but she would ask...the steak was burnt. It also was cold and the rice was not done....it wasn't chewy, it was hard. They brought my husbands grilled chicken and shrimp out about five minutes after everyone else...a piece of grilled chicken....no knife. When he asked the woman who brought out the food for a knife she said they were washing in the back. ????? How do you expect someone to eat a piece of uncut chicken? However, we should have seen this as a blessing in disguise. After waiting so long that his once sizzling plate wasn't sizzling anymore our waitress popped up and asked if we needed anything. We asked for a knife once again and got one! Yea! He cut the chicken and took a bit and made a face... I took a bite and immediately spit it out...the chicken was bad. Not horribly seasoned...bad, past the date, tainted and gross. The manager came by, we told he what was wrong and we asked her to please take our two meals off the ticket and we would just pay for the kids. Instead of being apologetic, she said, "Oh, ok" and left. No "I'm so sorry" nothing. Needless to say we went home and ate cereal which was much tastier that the meals we left. Will not return and instead of helping out our past experiences with Applebee's, this one made our decision stick and we won't...
