When we got here their was a bit of a wait but saw that as a good sign, meaning the food is worth it. Once we went in we were sat in a comfortable booth and the atmosphere was homey and cozy. I ordered the bacon avocado omelette for myself and the chocolate chip griddle cake for my little one. Right away our server came to us, offered drinks, and wasted no time in getting us beverages as well as recommended things based on the fact we were here for breakfast not lunch (it was close to 12 but we had a long night) so the fact they have breakfast all day was a delight. Once our orders came in we dug in, for the griddle cakes they were “pretty artwork” as my child put it. My bacon avocado was smaller then expected and a bit bland but it wasn’t anything a bit of salt couldn’t fix, besides it’s breakfast right? Not everyone wants something strong so it’s understandable. With a bit of salt and the pepper/grilled onions on top of the potatoes (recommended by our delightful server) it was worth the price. Not to mention the Fall White Russian, I don’t know who the bartender was but that drink was perfect. The food might not be the best but the staff certainly are worth the experience. From the host and her attentiveness to the unknown bartender and his luscious drinks, what you hear most in the background is laughs and good times between customers and staff. Even if the food was bad I’d definitely come back for the atmosphere alone, hard to find a place like this around here. To Maddy, thank you for being so quick and attentive even though the place was packed, but especially for...
Read moreThis has been my first visit to Mimi's cafe in Moreno Valley. I had visited the Riverside location only a few times as well. The wife wanted pancakes and IHOP was crowed so here we are. So we seated right away which was excellent. It however took a bit longer to be acknowledged by the waitress and when she did it was passing bye to wait on her existing customers. So once we had finally got to order drinks first and then food second time around, the wife ordered the new bananas fosters pancakes with turkey sausage that was the worst we ever tasted and scrambled eggs that were over cooked or Sat under the lamps to long. Which is suspicious because the plates come out very hot when served. The wife enjoyed the pancakes and said she would return to try other menu items. I ordered the chicken and waffles with added scrambled eggs that were overcooked as well. The waffle wasn't that bad, I was expecting it to under cooked but, surprisingly was pretty damn good. The chicken they give you is two decent sized pieces of boneless chicken breast that were crispy but overdone as well. I was way to hungry at this point to bother with sending it back. I would come back here to give them a second chance. The restaurant was clean and...
Read moreHad breakfast and was NOT impressed, the chicken tenders which the waiter said were home made and good accompanied the chicken and waffles were very very very yes one more "very" bland, not even salt and pepper was used on them, i have a very experienced trained palate, be they were fresh made i think, no flavor. And something about the eggs i forget was sub par as well, they were fresh but something i forgot. The sourdough or somthing or other- waffles were good, cinnamon roll french toast was ok borderline pretty good but very dense all french toast dredging requirement considered still dense, i may in the future give them another chance, but no time soon they failed on breakfast for me and waaay too many other better lunch and dinner options in the region for me to see myself going back anytime soon, i rarley ever trust chain resturaunts and gave this a shot to my dismay. I dont see how they have such long lines and a following. The food scene is lacking breakfast in the region apparently.
Half the resturaunt was empty but still a wait, to their defense i can tell an understaffed operation when i see one, im in the biz. Not their fault in post covid economy, but the food is...
