I usually don’t write reviews but… Went here for Mother’s Day, had a reservation and was seated quickly. Inside was beautiful. The restaurant was not busy, maybe 4-5 other families were there. Sever was ok, asked for recommendations and they stated that they were very busy from before and because of graduation they thought we should get something simple for the cook to make? Like we’re paying customers if I want to order any appetizers I should be recommended to do that but anyways we went with the charcuterie board (what server recommended). You can tell they maybe prepared it maybe hours before. Cheese was stale, the meat was squished flat like maybe they stacked another board on top and some were turning from pink to brown like when you start to fry it and some pieces had white patches on it?? I had to throw pieces away. The drinks were not tasty, but everyone’s tastes bud is different. Also both mines and my fiancés burger were so burnt on the bottom. I told the waiter and they said “you got it medium well right” um my friend, no burger is supposed to be completely burned on one side even if it’s well done. Anyways he offered to get a new one but my fiancé declined, because he’s just nice like that. But my fiancé said it was one of the worst burgers he has had ever. I wanted to try their steak (again server recommended steak or salmon) and then he said he remembered they were out of the steak, which was fine but felt when making reservations maybe they said state that they were out of some of their things on the menu? Or maybe the server should have started out with that. Idk. Also he seemed kinda pushy like trying to rush us at first. I guess they had a big celebration for maybe graduation or a wedding or something after? I was so excited to try this place for Mother’s Day as it looks so nice. But it was not a good experience at all. Mind you, everything was pretty pricey for all this experiences. Whether it’s busy or not, I feel like every customer should receive the same quality especially when paying and when everything...
Read moreThey're still new, as of our visit, so I will give them a chance to improve. We were concerned that the service here would be slow on the Thursday my wife and I went in, based on what others had told us. However, our server was both expedient, and able to check on us occasionally without hovering. The food, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired unfortunately. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer at the waiter's recommendation, and what came out was very overcooked and contained a lot of very small bits that were probably not anything more than the last bits of breading from the bag they came out of. I assume. The salads with our entrees were fresh, but more bitter than I expected (maybe it was the vinaigrette which neither of us cared for). My entree was a pork "sandwich" served on cornbread. The pork was good, if not underwhelming flavor-wise, but tender. The whole thing tasted good, really, but there was no way I could pick it up. Thick slabs of cornbread had been grilled, and I could tell an attempt was made to keep it denser and more solid than normal. But I don't think there's any helping the fact that cornbread is going to fall apart. Anyway, my wife's hanger steak tasted good, but was way overcooked. She ordered it medium and there is no denying that it came out well done. And finally, when I got the bill, I didn't feel like the rest of the menu was terribly outrageous, but I was really shocked how much we were charged for beer. I paid $7 and $8 per pint of Great Lakes and New Belgium, which is just outrageous. I'm glad we only had one each, and had I known the price (maybe I missed it but pretty sure it wasn't printed on the menu I was given), I wouldn't have gotten one at all.
Conclusion: Great atmosphere, apparently spotty service, food has potential, but kitchen needs to be more consistent, and stop robbing people at the bar. We may try again after...
Read moreI normally don’t like to form an opinion over one visit BUT I strongly believe that management should be aware of our experience.
Initially when we got there it was fine, no complaints. The server asked us if we wanted any apps and so we got mussels/clams. I would like to throw out that our mussels had a plate full of shells but only half of them actually had the meat in them. So that was the start of the downhil experience.
The server came to take our entree orders and I asked about the salad to which she replied “oh well you get a salad with an entree”....which I went oh okay! So I ordered the duck. So we are waiting and the salads never come around (we all ordered an entree). The server brings the main entrees and we ask where the salads were to which she replies “guys I’m so sorry, I’m so busy and i guess they were done so quick and I’ve just had a bad week so desserts on me”....Now I want to point out that I had to ASK that I get my salad because I don’t eat dessert. Funny part? I get my salad and there’s about 5 spinach leaves and one cherry tomato cut in half. Also, my “bed of greens” with my duck was also about 5-6 spinach leaves. I would like to point out the other 3 people i was with never got their salad and none of them ordered dessert because it looked so unappetizing on the display tray.
So the server took off the app on our bill which was the least she could do and kept blaming the mishap on her “bad week”. The unfortunate part is I really don’t think I would ever go back or recommend this place to anyone because my meal was definitely not worth the price and the service was just so...
