Incredible Food, Great Beer, and the Best Pepperoni Rolls in WV! Gibbie’s Pub & Eatery is the spot to hit in Morgantown! This classic college-town sports bar has everything you could want—an awesome laid-back atmosphere, friendly service, a surprisingly diverse selection of beers on tap, and, most importantly, some seriously incredible food. Let’s start with the fried pepperoni rolls—easily the best version of this regional food we had while visiting West Virginia. These aren’t your typical pepperoni rolls; they’re more like pizza egg rolls, crispy and golden on the outside with a perfectly gooey, cheesy, and pepperoni-packed center. Absolute perfection! The baked-then-fried wings were another unexpected standout. I’ve never had wings prepared this way before, but wow—juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. The baking locks in all the juices, and then frying them gives them that perfect crunch. Easily some of the best wings I’ve had anywhere! The vibe at Gibbie’s is relaxed and welcoming—whether you're grabbing drinks with friends, watching a game, or even bringing the family for a casual meal, it just works. If you’re in Morgantown, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Highly recommend and will definitely...
Read moreGibbie’s was one of my favorite bars to go to while at WVU. Lots of live bands and live band karaoke it was always fun.
There’s a vintage look to the Bar and in the back are some of the original booths and tables. It’s a great throwback look.
The restrooms were updated a few years back. That being said the men’s restroom could use some help. Tends to have wet floors and be messy. Plus there’s a lot of carved graffiti. Though that may add character.
The bartenders are on top of their game. Quick to serve and good suggestions. Food is so so. Typical bar fare. It can be a bit slow at times though.
Gibbie’s is a great joint. Update/clean the bathrooms and it would make a world of difference.
Update: it seems like things have declined some. Last time we were there and my wife wanted a Long Island ice tea. They didn’t have the alcohol to make it and had to look to find enough just to make 1 drink. A Long Island shouldn’t be problematic to make. Additionally some friend got draft beer and said the beer was skunked. Maybe it was a bad day and next time...
Read moreI haven’t been to Gibbie’s since about 1992. My high school friends and I used to annoy the employees at Gabbys by getting one dessert and sharing it, with three waters with lemon because. We never had a lot of money between us. I walked in today with my 20 year old son, and had a great meal and it almost felt like no time has gone by in between. The service was great. I feel bad b/c I didn’t get my servers name. It was a young lady, 20 something, w/ long dark wavy hair, and dark framed glasses. I am a Motownie. My family had a restaurant for many years back in the day. Coming from a restaurant service family, I recognize, and appreciate good service very much. I’ve been doing a thing with leaving a heads up shiny penny atop the tip/credit card slip, to signify “perfect service” since I was young. I happened to have just emptied my change into a donation bucket, and had not even 1¢ in cash. Hopefully this review will reach the waitress. I hope so. If so, thank you for perfect service😊, and for helping to create a nice lifelong memory for...
