Linsan Soulfood Restaurant — Restaurant in Morgantown

This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had with any establishment, and the way the “manager” spoke to me is incredibly upsetting.

We bought this coupon book a few months ago, which if you look at it, has no expiration date. I called to place an order this evening, and confirm that the coupon was able to be used. The women I spoke with said no, didn’t give me much of an explanation, and then cut me off and passed the phone to the “manager.” The “manager” then, in an aggressive tone, told me that I would have to take it up with the person who sold the coupon, but mentioned that they can’t get a hold of him either. I asked if it was a scam, he said no, but couldn’t offer a further explanation because he was “too busy to deal with this right now.” I tried to tell him I paid $30 for this and I would like to know more of why it was being rendered completely unusable, but he abruptly ended the call.

So now I’m out $30. I feel completely disrespected. And I can’t even comment...

My partner and I are moving and received a menu from a very friendly man spreading the word about the business. We decided to go for dinner immediately after seeing that the menu looked so good. It was amazing! I’ve lived in Morgantown for quite some time and it’s the best food I’ve had here. Everything is seasoned greatly, and is cooked with turkey which is what I prefer! I had the catfish with the sides it comes with. The fish was cooked perfectly and the breading is so delicious, the mac and cheese had a lot of flavor. Also, the best collard greens I ever had! My partner had the same sides plus green beans, the green beans were seasoned really nicely with garlic. We were amazed and left feeling full and happy. Just had our first visit to Linsan Soulfood and we will be back. You can order with the QR code at your table but we were waited on. I didn't get her name but the lovely "chief cook and bottle washer" was an absolute joy. Got The Soul Sandwich substituting spicy chicken for the regular fried chicken. It was quite tasty and the spicy chicken was just about the right heat. Next time, though, I'll skip the spicy as it over powered the very tasty mac-n-cheese. Our other meal was a crab cake that came with a light salad. This was a good evening meal choice. In all honesty, a crab cake from anywhere near the shore is way different and awesome. But it was a good crab cake and one of the few you can find in town (Before you say, "but Red Lobster!" Sorry, no chain restaurants for us!)
