We ate there a while back for the first time. And the food was so good it was delicious, we live in Middlesboro which is like an hour away. now we tried to go to Akita’s, at least 2 or 3 times a month. and I always get enough to bring home too. Sometimes we eat their and sometimes we just get it to go. My husband gets the steak and chicken vegetables and carrots. And he loves it. I usually get mine in side orders cause I feel like you get more I get rice with teriyaki put on it. I get the zucchini and onions extra well-done with teriyaki put on it, and a side order carrots and I’ll get teriyaki chicken sometime’s, but I’m more of just a vegetable person myself. and then usually when we leave. I’ll get another side of rice and zucchini onions, well done with the teriyaki put on it. And we can eat on it for a couple days . and normally I can’t stand the Japanese mayonnaise or Japanese sauce whatever you wanna call it but I love theirs, so I always get 2 or 3 of them to go. It’s the only one I’ve tried, that I like. It’s Delicious..also I can’t stand carrots, but their sweet carrots are delicious, I love them, and it’s the only Japanese place that I know of that even has them. The only thing that I would recommend about this place would be that they would get the Japanese soup and that would be amazing. The prices aren’t bad either. Unless you order like I do, lol because I feel like I get more by ordering sides so I’m paying like $15 or $16 bucks for rice, carrots, and zucchini and onions. Basically A vegetable plate.. it would be much cheaper if I ordered just a vegetable plate, but I think you get way more if you order the sides. you pay more but you get more, and I can always eat on it longer like that . so you get your moneys worth . Every time we go, the line is around the building and the building is full, parking lot is always full too. so that tells you it’s a great Japanese place to eat at. Staff has always been friendly. We plan on eating there enough to where that they will have my order down packed as to what I want and exactly how I...

Update- come here weekly. Spoke highly of this place before as you can see below. Came here today. Ordered two steak well done. Came out pink. Showed the server. They recooked. They lady came out and told us those were well that we have to ask for it to be burnt if we want well. I don’t want burnt lady. I asked for well done. Couldn’t even eat the food it was so crispy. I told her we even showed the guy it was pink she insisted it was well. Very frustrating. This generation doesn’t even know what well done looks like. Pink is not well done lady. And well done isn’t the same as burnt. The guy that served us was super sweet. Only good experience we had today.

Won’t be back.

Just left from Eating here first time. It’s a rare experience to find a restaurant where you get amazing food and amazing service. The employees were so pleasant I wanted to invite them to sit and eat with us! They made sure drinks were topped off constantly and were smiling the whole time. I will be...

I can’t say enough good things about Akita Express Japanese Grill in Morristown, Tennessee! This place is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the staff greets you with warm smiles and makes you feel right at home. They go above and beyond to take care of you—checking in just the right amount, refilling drinks without you even asking, and always ensuring everything is perfect. Their attentiveness is top-notch, and it really elevates the whole dining experience.

And the food? Oh my goodness, it’s wonderful! Every dish is bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and so fresh you can taste the quality. The portions are huge, too—I’m talking leave-you-stuffed-and-still-have-leftovers huge. Whether you’re craving hibachi, sushi, or one of their tasty appetizers, you won’t be disappointed. It’s the kind of place where you get incredible value for your money and leave already planning your next visit. Five stars all the way—Akita Express...

5/18, Try the steak it’s really good! 4/2022, I checked out this locally popular Japanese take out place and I am pleasantly surprised! I know Japanese food well and certainly didn’t expect too much from a restaurant in a small TN town. So I ordered the Hibachi chicken, see pic. The size is big (Huge actually) lots of chicken, mushrooms and carrots. Rice is also included. The sauce came separately and I like that. I only needed half of it and really enjoyed my dinner. Be aware that the line during peak time is very long.. I was told. Went back to try the Teriyaki chicken today.. sweeter this time. But wonder why the same source?

Akita is located off Morris Blvd, in front of Frank Lorino Park, on the East Side of Morristown (about a quarter mile from hwy 25). Every time I eat there I am happy with the quality, quantity, and price. It seems that no matter the time you come in, you get your food quickly and it tastes great! They are very happy to substitute ingredients and the staff comes out to see how you like everything. You can also call your order in and pick it up. You will get more food than you should probably eat in 1 sitting for around $10 (take the leftovers home and reheat, still tasty)!

I had an okay experience at Akita Japanese Grill. The drive-thru was quick and the food was solid. However, I did find a small black piece of plastic in my chicken, which was disappointing. I almost accidentally ate it. Also, I wish they had a larger menu with more options to choose from. Overall, it’s a convenient spot for Japanese flavors on the go, just with a bit of room for improvement.
