First of all, let me start by saying that we shop in belks all over and, unfortunately, we are residents of Morristown and are stuck with this store. We NEVER have issues in any other Belk store and almost always have issues with this particular store. That's if we can even find anything we want to buy here. But this last trip was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back for us. My wife was looking for a pair of tennis shoes to match a jogging outfit she recently purchased. She came upon a pair that she thought would be okay, which was shocking as the selection in this shoe department was scarce at best. The associate in the department said it was due to them just completing an inventory. The display sign said 25% off with coupon. As there is no price check and no price indicated on the box, my wife scanned the shoe box with her Belks app. The price indicated on the app was 68.00. With 25% off coupon (the coupon is located on the Belks app), the price should come to 51.00 plus tax. The clerk rang up the shoes and came up with a price in the 70's and we disputed it and, after a lengthy conversation with me, going over and taking a picture of the shoes and the display tag, we could not get it through her head, or the manager on duty at the time that the price they were trying to sell us the shoes was not correct according to their signage. They tried telling us that they didn't honor the coupon online, which had no bearing on our purchase as we were TRYING to purchase these in the store. Read moreI had the most unpleasant experience at this belk. I had went in to exchange a pair of shorts and a pair of shoes and evidently they assumed I was trying to steal something. If they had been more worried about helping me find what I needed as they were trying to sneak around and catch me stealing something (which I wasn't doing by any means whatsoever) then i wouldnt have returned the shorts and shoes that i had already bought and just wanted to exchange. We went up to the counter to pay for our item and immediately the cashier wanted our email. We told her we would rather not give out our email. She insisted she couldn't complete the purchase without it! She told us just to give her any random email, so we just made one up. What a complete waste of time.
