Been coming to Mt. Pleasant since 1993 and lived here twice, big foodie and somehow missed this incredible place!
The staff is super sweet, friendly and kind! As we had a short wait, more and more picture perfect plates kept going by showing how diverse their menu is….getting us super excited! Huge handmade burgers, outrageous chicken sandwiches, pizzas and wings literally made on their two fire ovens and grills. I mean walking to our table I see a half of a grilled/baked chicken and yep….that was my pick!
We began with super juicy char grilled wings with the side of their unique roadside sauce that has perfect low level kick and best part? NOT SYRUPY from being so heavy in sugar! Holy cow we all wanted to drink this stuff!
Our table ordered the pepperoni pizza, three fried chicken sandwiches and I had that half chicken.
The pizza was perfect, Dave Portnoy would be proud of the no-flop! The sandwiches were just as good as they looked and my son put that Roadside Sauce on his! My chicken came out on the some of the best grits I’ve ever had! I even ordered a side of succotash which, like the rest of the food, needed zero added spices bc it was perfect just the way it was!
We all walked away locking this place in as our new favorite spot in Mount P!
Super clean and higher end atmosphere with the most down to earth staff and very reasonable prices! They are getting robbed serving this level of cuisine at...
Read moreWe really wanted to love this place and don't typically leave negative reviews but our entire experience was horrible. Arrived to a 15-20 minute wait and were sat within that time frame which is probably the smoothest part of our time there. Once our 4-top was sat, we weren't greeted or even acknowledged for almost 15 minutes. We only were once another table was sat beside us and we had to wave down the amazing male server who was actually really great. We weren't given silverware and only given half a glass of water to drink while we waited for our server to come take our order, we had to ask for this. The table sat after us got the works and were able to get food while we still were sipping on our room temp half glasses of water. Our server finally showed up. Someone in our party ordered coffee, had to ask for cream and sugar which took another 5 minutes to get. No real creamer for the coffe, just whole milk. The food came out cold and insanely salty. Couldn't I order the wings because they ran out, ordered the meatballs and knew after the first bite that my stomach was going to be upset. I spent the night getting sick. Hoping our experience was a terrible one-off because the other reviews are what brought us here honestly.
Wanted to mention tiny portions for the cost of everything on the menu. We also left...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I were staying at the KOA campground close by. We stopped here for dinner. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed. We each got a frozen cocktail. She got the beach bound booze and I got the island of misfits. They were both what we needed after a long day of site seeing. Strong and nicely frozen! We shared 2 apps, tarvin shrimp toast and the mushroom and ricotta toast. We couldn't decide which was better. They were both fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the sauces were very tasty. Our main dishes were the 1/2 roasted chicken and the ribeye steak. Both were cooked just right. The flavor that being cooked over a wood fire took them to the next level. My steak was served with a vibrant chimichurri, street corn, and potatoes that were crispy and topped with fresh grated parmesan. Her chicken was served with grits and collard greens as good as any I've had. Despite needing carry out boxes we succumbed to our waitresses recommendation to try the homemade churros. Served piping hot, crunchy, and just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon. Perfect ending to our visit to...
