If you're in the mood for Southern inspired fried chicken, catfish, and/or shrimp, definitely stop by this unassuming, tiny spot in a small neighborhood strip mall! Not far from 85 and the Evelyn exit, 237 at Dana, 101 and Shoreline, and just a few blocks off downtown Mountain View's Castro Street, it's off the beaten path, but a gem of a spot to grab a bite for lunch or dinner. It's everything you want in fried food- crispy outer breading that isn't too thick, and a firm, juicy inner that isn't tough. The cornbread was moist and buttery, seafood coated in corn meal, and all the food was served in generous portions. Get the large collard greens- they reheat well and are fantastic with the packet hot sauce they give you (like pepper sauce). A small, clean, and brightly decorated interior for dining inside or enjoy the Bay breeze and sit at a table outside, where friendly staff will come and chat with you. Being a fast casual spot, it's also nice to order ahead for a take out order when you need to eat, but schedules got too tight to make your own family meal. I grew up eating my dad's fried catfish and collard greens, but have never been able to make it quite right (he was born/raised in the South and I'm Cali raised), so it's definitely nice to have the option for a little bit of southern comfort food in the middle of Silicon Valley. If you've been before, take note that they've changed hours- now open Sundays and closed Mondays. Make it out to support this...

I had an itch for catfish the other night and saw this place on Doordash. Man am I glad I tried it! Gotta try the biscuit!

I would say this is very comparable to what Ive had in Arkansas.

Catfish was well coated with seasoning and fried perfectly while still being moist. Tartar sauce was good

Shrimp was fried good I just wish they had a cocktail sauce for them.

Fries were good

Cant speak on the collard greens as it was substituted for the mac and cheese that they were out of, but I did try them for the first time and they were not bad! Bit spicy, maybe thats how they are? Would have probably liked the beans and rice more.

Normally I don’t like biscuits and find them just to be an item to snack on as they are either dry or too dense with little to no flavor. BUT their Honey Butter Biscuits are really good and flavorful! I’ll have to order more of them next time. They were the perfect texture to me.

Not too many places around here that Ive found that serve catfish let alone serve it the southern way. Normally the only time I have catfish is in a small town in Arkansas.

This place tasted pretty good for not being located in the south. I would describe it as small town comfort food. Everything came packaged in a store branded container and it all arrived still very hot. Would try again and probably try their chicken and update the review when I do. At least found a place in the bay to scratch my craving for catfish...

WOW WOW WOW is the first thing that I can say coming from my mouth !!🤙🏽🤙🏽👍🏽✅✅

This place is very very clean inside and as well the restroom !! The inside and outside is very nice and well kept!! Now for the food ; I order the catfish alacarte 6 pieces and they don’t disappoint let me tell you !! I also got the shrimp and bam right on point as well 🤙🏽✅ Anyone from down south from Louisiana will be saying yep this is from home !! Seasons just like home and not over cooked ! The fish is flaky and mouth watering ! I should have gotten more is my only grip against myself and not the business. Okay I now for the chicken , I ordered the 10 pieces mixed along with the greens and red beans and rice; along with the honey biscuits and Corn bread muffins !!

I am not lying to you folks this place is the real deal and as a veteran is how I found out about this place from the VA Hospital in Palo Alto it doesn’t disappoint at all !!

This is a hidden secret tucked away in Mountain View. Don’t wait to try it out but run to try it out !!

I am not related to the owner so this review is from my own personal experience folks !

I will definitely be coming back to this spot . My new go to instead of KFC or Popeyes this will blow you away folks ! Oh I almost forgot the customer service is excellent and while I was there the Fire department was performing an inspection of the building facility and passed with...

4/1/2025 Clifford’s Chicken & Fish 699 Calderon Ave Mountain View, CA 94041 I went there for a quick solo dinner on an early Tuesday evening. It’s at the end of a small plaza a block north of ECR. The parking lot was nearly full but turn over is fast. There is some interior seating; a table and chair setup for about 14 people. You order and pay at the counter from the menu board behind the counter. I ordered the two piece dark meat, which came with a biscuit and fries. My meal was brought to me shortly in a box with the biscuit in a bag. The chicken had a crunchy breading and was very moist. The fries were hot and crispy. The biscuit was fall apart moist. Every thing was tasty and a little salty. A very good neighborhood chicken place with reasonable prices. I went here when they first opened for the catfish, which had a “bottom of pond” taste and I wouldn’t recommend. It’s repeatable for the chicken.

WELCOME TO MOUNTAIN VIEW!! The well seasoned, juicy fried chicken wings did not disappoint! The fries were crisp and super tasty. The coleslaw had just the right amount of "tang," and sweetness for mom, and the biscuits were moist and fluffy with a kiss of honey. ( move over Red Lobster cheddar bay) Easily my new favorite. I could eat an entire tray. My daughter enjoyed the creamy southern style Mac n cheese. The restaurant is very clean and has seating indoors and outdoors. Jason offered wonderful customer service with a smile and was nice enough to bring our orders to our car, which I appreciated as I have back issues. We'll be back! Looking forward to trying the chicken sandwich and the red velvet cake and a bag of biscuits♡ Welcome to The View!
