This review is a result of a couple of trips to Eureka with friends. To begin with, Eureka is doing an absolutely stellar job with food, ambience , service and the vibe in there is just phenomenal. Its ambiance strikes the perfect balance between casual and upscale. The tastefully designed interior, with its warm lighting, rustic decor, and a vibrant bar area, creates a welcoming and stylish atmosphere. The service at Eureka is truly exceptional. The staff is not only friendly but also highly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They offered insightful recommendations, promptly catered to our needs, and made us feel like valued guests throughout our visit. Eureka's menu is filled with creative and delicious options. Across two different visits , we ordered crispy brussel sprouts and cauliflower bites (repeated across the 2 visits) alongwith Spinach and Artichoke dip, Watermelon chicken salad , Napa chicken sandwich and Saered Ahi salad( repeated as well across the 2 visits). All of these were crafted to precision cooked with an effort and plated out very well. Absolutely recommend the Seared Ahi Salad along with the Cauliflower Bites and Brussel Sprouts. The quality of food and service provided is definitely great and the portion sizes are generous as well. Good bang for your buck!!! Cheers!!

After a 20 minute wait for a table which isn't bad, I was gifted with another 10 minute wait before a server noticed me. I ordered the Mac n cheese balls for an appetizer, with the Eureka! American burger. The food came rather quickly, in which I was amazed. The Mac n cheese balls were amazing. Super cheesy and with a hint of spice. The burger however, was a different story. I ordered a well done but got a medium well. The fries were subpar. So at the point I wasn't too enthusiastic about the experience, in fact I was a little upset. This is when Alina stepped over to my table and asked how my experience was. I was truthful, saying not the best. Thought I knew she could tell it was much more than that. She offered to buy me a dessert, which I accepted and had the pudding. Those two events alone turned a potential 3 star review to a 4. Never have I had a manager of a restaurant approach me so casually and knew exactly how to remedy the situation. She was kind and she literally turned my frown upside down. With a little more work and some practice from the kitchen staff, I think this could be a five star experience. The waiters/waitresses definitely need to work on interaction, but a manager like Alina, it is possible.

I’ve dined at this restaurant several times, but won’t again after tonight. The food is decent and the service is passable, though the high prices are justified by neither, but the biggest problem I had came from the restaurant’s inability to protect their patrons from aggressive and violent behavior. During my meal, my friend and I were interrupted by an altercation at the bar between a man and his wife. He was visibly intoxicated and began getting physically aggressive and verbally violent towards his wife. This continued for several minutes to the point that we felt we had to call over a server to inform him of what was happening. Eventually the waitstaff asked him to leave, but during a conversation with the general manager, Alena Aaron, I discovered that this is not a standalone occurrence. According to her, they are regulars and his violent behavior is regular as well. She said that they have called the police on him before and kicked him out several times, but that they will still continue to serve him “every night” (her words), despite knowing where that alcohol will lead. When questioned about why she would continue to supply an abusive man with alcohol, putting both his wife and the rest of the restaurant in potential danger of his outbursts, she said that that’s “just the way their relationship is.” I asked when they ask him to leave, and she said that they ask him to leave when he gets violent… after drinking. Alena told my friend and I that they continue to serve him because sometimes they appear to be happy. Her myopic perspective enables regular nights of violence simply because she cannot comprehend that abuse isn’t linear, and for some reason she finds it extremely difficult to understand why sober, happy men shouldn’t be served alcohol if it is a known fact that that alcohol will make him violent. In other words, she is continuously filling a cup with water, watching the volume rise, and then acting surprised when it spills. Personally, I’m not comfortable financially supporting an establishment that knowingly gives space to violent behavior on a nightly basis. I think it speaks to the safety of the atmosphere, knowing that a violent and drunken man could be there on any given night, and it speaks to the character of both the business and the manager, Alena Aaron.

Revisited May 2023 - good good again. But staff not so much. I was on my own and wanted to be welcomed, yet the waitress — after watching her happily greet a group of two — dismissed me to the bar, without a smile or warm welcome. I was sat at the bar between others. There was new bar staff being instructed which meant none of them served me and when I managed to get their attention, it was like I was interfering with their tasks. It was an un welcome visit. What a shame. Remaining part of review was pre 2020: Such a good burger! I had the bone marrow burger and I wasn't quite ready for how good that was going to be. So much flavour, moist and cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of relish and other accompaniments. Bun was soft and had poppy seeds. Fries were great too. Also desert was nice, can't remember what they called it, but fellow Brits would call this a sticky toffee pudding. Huge selection of beers, ales, which they are happy to provide samples of. Only problem I had was the staff. There were big introductions, then introductions to a different waitress because the first waiter will no longer be serving us, only to find he came back at the end. I really don't care about the names of my waiting staff. I'd just like to be able to find one when I'm ready to order, which I could not.

Follow me on Instagram for more reviews! @hopeless_ramen_tic 📍Eureka! - Mountain View, CA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food: Fresno Fig Burger - This burger was absolutely phenomenal. - The burger was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor. - The fig marmalade paired with the goat cheese was *chef’s kiss*. - The bacon and mustard sauce paired very well with the rest of the ingredients. - This might be my favorite burger I’ve ever had. - The side of fries were nice and crispy. Al Pastor Fish Tacos - These tacos hit the spot. - The Mahi Mahi was seasoned very well. - The pineapples really added to the flavor. - The crema and side of salsa verde completed the taco. - Top tier fish tacos. Drinks: Mimosa Flight - The mimosas were tasty, but I wasn’t floored. - My favorite was probably the grapefruit blood orange since it had a lot of flavor. - My boyfriend’s favorite (and my second favorite) was the hibiscus lime, which was a unique flavor and tasted refreshing. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our time at this restaurant. We sat outside in the nice weather. The food was fantastic. They have a lot of good drink options. They also do a happy hour. I would definitely come back here! Date Visited: 6/17/2024
