Stopped by for the soft opening twice so far. The first time I went in I placed an order through the app but stood at the counter with my pickup order ready and wasn’t acknowledged for over 5 minutes. Only one person was in front of me and after they ordered the order taker walked away for a bit and started to make drinks. Not a great first impression but thought that it would be worth mentioning. Anyways, I really enjoyed the Banh Mi sandwiches as well as the drinks from here! I tried the Signature sandwich and the bread was crispy, light, and flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and seasoned well and the meat had a pleasant texture and flavor. I have tried the Thai Cyclone tea which was delicious but very sweet even for 25% sweetness level. I also tried the Vietnamese Coffee which had a pretty bold flavor but wasn’t one of my favorites as far as coffee goes. Overall I think most of the menu could use a price adjustment especially when you can get almost the same exact items or better for cheaper everywhere...
Read moreOh my. We ordered a large pork belly sandwich. The crunch of the bread at first bite passed the test. It was light and airy. The flavors and texture were great as expected. We got to try the pate chaud as well, the flakey crust with a bite of savory was very nice. Service was welcoming and efficient. We have stopped by a few more times since our first visit. We brought friends to try on different occasions and they loved it. The fried chicken is flavorful and the ca phe sua da is great. Today I tried a small banh mi #8 and added an egg. That was lovely with the same nice texture as usual. We were also able to try a new drink, coconut milk with cocoa. Rich flavor from the coconut and good cocoa flavor, the sugar can also be adjusted for preference. The sandwiches are a good value because the bread is fresh and the ingredients generous. You would have to drive to San Jose to get another good...
Read moreI was very saddened when T Bread down the street closed but was super delighted when I saw that this place had opened!
I really dig the decor and the vibe inside - reminded me of some Vietnamese shops in East SJ.
On the salted coffee and popcorn chicken alone I would give this place 5 stars. I usually find viet coffee to be overwhelmingly sweet but this coffee is perfectly done and just the right amount.
I got the beef banh mi - the bread and toppings were great but I feel like the beef itself was a miss. It had gochujang sauce which was very strange for a vietnamese place. It wasn't BAD but it's definitely not what I wanted in a typical grilled beef banh mi. Maybe if they labelled that it was a KOREAN sauce I would think differently.
Anyways, I'll give the place another shot since the...
