So, I decided to try Drake's tonight for the first time, and it initially started. Well, service was fast as far as food getting there in a timely manner. I did notice an abnormal number of employees, but it's a new restaurant. I'm sure there's a lot of training going on. So, as I said, the initial service was great, I got my drinks quickly. I got my appetizer quickly. The appetizer was cold, and that should have been a red flag, but I just let that slide. My drink did have a gnat in it, but these things happen. I didn't even make a big deal out of it. Just give me another one. Then, after I got my replacement drink, my waiter decided to go to the table directly behind me and conversate for the next 25 to 30 minutes and give me no more service. Other waiters brought out our food. No one ever asked me if I wanted another drink and all of his co workers just watched him You could see them look at him when they walked by him, but no one ever said that word to him. He actually had a conversation with one of his co-workers in a red shirt, and they never even mentioned to him that he was just sitting there, having a conversation, and not waiting on any other tables. I pointed out to another waiter or waitress that I needed my check, and I needed a box. I then voiced my displeasure with the service from my waiter they asked if I would speak to a manager/trainer that he would take care of it for me. So he did come and listen, and he also pointed out that this was the second time tonight that this particular waiter had had an issue, and after me spending $75 and getting horrible service, he offered me a free pretzel, no thanks. I, of course, didn't expect free food. I did think someone would at least comp the drink that had a bug in it. So, my overall experience was bad. Will I give them another chance? Probably not. There's so many restaurants in Murfreesboro. Why? Do I need to go back for that? Good luck. I hope everyone else's experience is better than mine. Update from the manager response first things: first, they send a generic link that you have to copy and paste, and then I've yet to hear from them. All those great reviews you'd think they'd definitely have time for the one bad review, but I've heard nothing. Hence, I'll never waste another dime there. I'll be at Longhorns, where service is...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews on an establishment, and this review is two fold. Our server, Haley, was attentive, provided a great recommendation for a specialty sushi roll, and provided a great overall experience (including helping my partner and the hostess decorate the table) - despite the comical amount of issues that ensued.
Myself, partner, and two friends went here for my birthday dinner tonight. We ordered two starters for the table - the BLT tots, which were delicious, despite not having the added cheese we’d requested, and the chips and dips, which came recommended by Haley, but sadly never made it to the table (they were removed promptly from the bill). We ordered our dinners, and my partner and I ordered side salads and asked that they be brought before the rest of the meal. After some time, all of the food came out at once. Partner’s salad was supposed to also have grilled chicken and didn’t, which was corrected as the rest of us ate our dinners. Our order of the mushroom and Swiss burger had no mushrooms. Haley had mistakenly taken one of the orders incorrectly, but promptly admitted her mistake and apologized, and quickly brought an item that had been missed. We’re fairly laid back, so we kept what was brought.
The final bit was “the cookie” - the special birthday cookie dessert was mentioned at the beginning of the meal, and as we finished our meals, Haley had to inform us that they were out of them. (She comically added “Y’all are gonna hate me…” which we didn’t at all!) They were making a new batch, and they’d take about half an hour - it was getting late for all of us, so I told her it wasn’t necessary. Haley then excitedly offered us donuts, which we also told her weren’t necessary. It wasn’t a big deal to not get the cookie, and honestly it was just a funny ending to the night.
Two managers did come over and check on us and apologize for the issues. The 2nd manager gave us each a coupon for a free appetizer - that we later saw was with a $20 purchase. Womp womp.
The people were super friendly, and I get that it’s the Sunday before Christmas. The food we did eat was delicious. As far as the experience, Drake’s just didn’t seem to be firing on all cylinders tonight, and it was bit of a bummer for a...
Read morePaid a visit to Drake’s with my daughter, they just opened last Thursday so they are still working out the “kinks” and training staff. First…this place is HUGE, deceiving based on how it looks from the outside. We put our name on the list for a 30 minute wait and sat outside. One of the managers came outside sharing samples of their Crab Rangoon Roll…impressive dish. Great flavors, warm and crispy, and the sweet chili sauce was delicious. We were seated and our server Bailey got our drink orders while we looked over the menu. Baily was very patient with us trying to figure things out and we decided on the Fried Pickles for an appetizer, the All American Mini Burgers with sweet potato fries, Mushroom Swiss burger and as a side the Blue Cheese and Apple salad.
My daughter loved the pickles, I’m personally not a fan of fried pickles but the batter is really good and the ambrosia ranch dipping sauce is friggin’ incredible. The Mini Burgers were really good with sauteed onions added…the name “Mini” is misleading as these are double patty burgers and hefty! Sweet potato fries were very good with a nice crispy exterior and a solid sweet potato flavor. The Mushroom Swiss burger was packed with mushrooms and the burger was good but seemed to be missing something. I finally figured out there was no sauce so I grabbed some of the ambrosia ranch dipping sauce and WOW…great flavor enhancement and something I would add to any sandwich here. The Blue Cheese and Apple side salad ($2 upcharge) is well worth it and I would enjoy this as a salad all on its own. This is one of the best “specialty” salads I’ve had in a long time. Next time I will get this with grilled chicken…this salad is that darn good!
This place is in training so there are many more servers than normal along with trainers getting everyone up to speed. EVERYONE from the greeters, servers, trainers, and managers were extremely friendly and made you feel welcome. Our server Bailey took excellent care of us and we met Chaz…one of the partners who chatted with us about the place and he seemed very proud of what they have opened here. Looks like a solid addition to the Murfreesboro...
