We have a tradition in our family for birthdays. Whom ever birthday is up, you pick your meal. Anywhere you want! So it was my daughters time to pick for her "Sweet 16"! She wanted something new, but wanted to be surprised. Of course mom and I know her palette very well, so we started the search. My wife is the one who gets to take the credit for finding this gem. We have always heard great stories and seen the reviews for Samurai's, but not yet experienced it. So glad my daughter had us pick! The whole "experience" was phenomenal! My daughter had the "Shrimp Hibachi" with a "Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri", my wife and I went with the "Samurai's Supreme Special for 2" which was lobster tail, filet mignon, and shrimp hibachi. My wife ordered a "Pina Colada" and I had the "Tokyo Tini". All the hibachi meals come with onion soup, salad, hibachi vegetables, shrimp appetizer, and your choice of steamed rice, noodles, or fried rice. The drinks were out in minutes, followed immediately by the onion soups. When we were deciding what to order, both my wife and my daughter had a look of "I don't think so" on their face about the onion soup 😂. We were all pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The salad came out with the soup, and it wasn't just your typical lettuce and dressing. It was a real salad!! While we were finishing up our appetizers our chef had already made his way to us with all the goodness that lay ahead 🤤. He started with a Happy Birthday fire for my daughter. Man was she surprised!! (This was her first Hibachi) He followed with the starting of fried rice to which she got the first taste when he popped a portion in her mouth from across the grill!!! She was mesmerized by the handy work of the chef, as so she should be. He was fabulous. While preparing our meals, he kept a hilariously entertaining conversation going the entire time. All the food was delicious. The shrimp, fabulous! The Filet, my wife ordered medium and I of course Medium rare. Perfectly cooked!! And then the Lobster tail, ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!! We had such an amazing time, and the treatment we received for my daughters birthday was top notch. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone who would like a wonderfully delicious meal, tied together with a Highly Entertaining atmosphere at the table. 5 stars from the Yancey Fam!!!!! Thank you to all who made our meal such a...
Read moreWe had 4 adults and 2 children. I went in alone, per their guidelines, to put in my name. A couple of groups came in behind me. She (the hostess) said they could seat us immediately and I said I would go outside and get them. She made a note and I went outside. When I came back in, she gave me a buzzer and said it would be 20-25 minutes. So, if you follow their rules, you get bumped to the back of the line. Take your entire group inside if you want the first available seats. While we waited, I bought a soda for my daughter and the bartender said just bring it inside and they wouldn't charge for another one during the meal. Once seated, we ordered and the chef began to cook. I wasn't sitting near my wife but I did notice that she didn't get her rice. She informed the chef and he said nothing was written down but would get her some rice. When he finished cooking the vegetables she had to remind him that he was about to miss her plate again. At this point, she realized that he wasn't cooking her food but was actually taking a little from everyone else and giving her some. She informed the waitress of the error but nothing was done. From where I was sitting, I could not hear this exchange although I did see my wife get her other food and rice at the end of the meal. When the ticket came, my wife asked it there were any adjustments and I said "no". I did not realize that she (and everyone else) did not receive a full portion, so I paid the bill. It wasn't until we got in the car that I got the full story. Now, I'm the bad guy for not doing something about the chef and waitress BOTH knowing that they charged us for a meal they didn't deliver and skimping on everyone else's meal. Fair warning guys: If you go here, pay attention and make sure everything is right before you leave. THEY will cheat you but you'll pay the price when you get in the car. p.s. I paid twice for...
Read moreJust, eh. Came in to celebrate my hubs and I's anniversary. Were seated in a booth-as to not have the craziness of the Hibachi areas, almost immediately. But waited forever for our waitress. It was a bit funny-we actually lol'd, cause we sat for quite a while and considered leaving as other patrons were eating, but no one was around outside of the many bussers, ready to clean tables. Our waitress arrived and took our drink, appetizer and dinner order all at the same time. And I thought it was weird, but I ordered an appetizer, Chicken Pad Thai, 2 California Rolls, 1 Tiger Roll... while my hubs ordered Sesame Chicken and a mixed drink. But, the waitress asked if this was all on the same bill, which I thought was a bit rude, seeing as it's just me and the hubs. ? Do people trying out a restaurant for the first time, not order several plates to get familiar with the restaurant anymore? My husband's Miso Soup and Salad come out with our drinks. Followed right after with everything else. Sushi was great, but the rolls were falling apart a bit. The Pad Thai was not the business. Where are the peanuts?!? I let our waitress know too, that I like spicy when I ordered. It was so off and so was the Sesame Chicken. Just wasn't overly thrilled-with any and everything. Service sucked, our waitress came by once to fill our water glasses up, and then again to take our card... I wouldn't wait for the bill. Our waitress asked me twice as well, if I wanted to go boxes for the plate of Pad Thai-really thought it was super aggressive after barely being present for most, if not our whole meal. Mind you, this is a Tuesday evening. I had high hopes for this place, and wanted to try dessert, too. It may have been just an off night, but I'll be definitely crossing this place...
