My family and I came to Myrtle Beach for vacation and we decided to explore broadway at the beach. There was a group of ladies outside that had just finished eating at Landry’s and we asked if they had a great meal. Those ladies said “Yes!”, so we decided to go in and have dinner there as well. Everything was GREAT from the hostess, the waiter and his recommendations, the atmosphere, etc. They were all so kind to even my screaming, teething, and overly hungry 1 year old. Also, very satisfied with the timing from seating our family, to obtaining drinks and our meal. The garlic bread while you wait for your meal was delicious! Where we felt a little disappointment, was with our meals. My husband and I ordered the chef recommended 20oz ribeye with mashed potatoes, asparagus, scallops, crab, shrimp, & mushrooms. That meal was $72 (per one order). To my family, that is a lot of money. We haven’t spent money like that on our entire vacation and it is almost over, so we decided “Why not enjoy ourselves and splurge?!”. The issue is not the money, Our entire order was $160 for just us two. The issue we had is the taste and portion of the meal for which we paid $72 per person for. We understand taste and seasoning of a steak is subjective, however I feel as if I should not require steak sauce to eat with due to lack of flavor. Also, we received a small portion of mashed potatoes, 2 spears of asparagus, 5 shrimp, 2 small scallops, 3 chunks of crab. I may be ignorant in this matter, as we don’t eat seafood often, however I feel as if the price and the portions didn’t make sense. I can go purchase a whole bundle of asparagus for $3-$5 and for $72 I received 2 spears. My In-Laws ate dinner with us and they enjoyed everything (they ordered the Seafood platter and the Red Snapper). They did mention the price for 1/2 lb of crab legs was $25 and for the portion they received, they were slightly disappointed as well. The waiter had asked if we were enjoying everything and I am not normally one to complain, because I don’t want to be “the Karen”, but this time I just felt like I needed to share my disappointment. The waiter brought out the chef & Laura-Lee. They apologized and tried to rectify the situation, offering to remake and season the steaks differently. I feel as if they were genuine and sincere in their apologies. I didn’t want a new steak or the dessert that Laura-Lee so kindly brought to the table. I did receive a small discount on my bill for my disappointing meal, which was nice and not expected. I just would really like Landry’s to reconsider their portions and pricing on certain menu items. Please take my review with a grain of salt and try Landry’s yourself and form your...

In Short: TERRIBLE SERVICE, FOOD WAS EVEN WORSE
The Long Brought my girlfriend and another couple. We were sat and it was a few minutes before our actual waitress greeted us and took drink orders. Drinks were a coke, patron Margarita, chocolate martini and a bottle of Boston lager. It took over 20 minutes to get our drinks. Our appetizer, bread and salad were all out prior to our drinks.
We ordered our food ( see pictures and receipt below for specifics) and over 30 minutes after ordering it was on our table. There were tables around us that sat after us and had their food before us.
I personally ordered the filet steak rare. it was the driest and toughest $33 filet I have ever had in my life. It was so bad I didn't even finish it.
My girlfriend ordered the salmon and she said it was overcooked to the point it was very chewy. She also did not finish it. The "side" of asparagus was literally two pieces. That should be called a garnish instead of a side.
The other couple had a crab cake. She said it was all filler, also did not finish her food. Her husband ordered the flounder, said it was OK but not great, also did not finish it.
Our waitress never asked how everything was other than when I first got the steak and cut into it to make sure it was rare enough. Only when she asked for the check did she ask again when she asked if we wanted boxes. My girlfriend is too nice coming from that industry of work to say anything mean. So she said everything was okay while at the same time I said it was horrible. No response from her.
Before and after photos of food below.
On the way home our uber driver did tell us that most of the tourist type areas for food just simply do not care, there is no need for them to.
So if you want a decent meal, don't eat in the...
Read moreWe came as a group of 5 to eat at Landry’s on a track and field dinner, meaning we had money to spend and we had to leave by 8:30 pm. We arrived at 7:20 pm, and were seated in a corner. It took 15 minutes for the waiter to get our drinks and appetizers orders, and at 7:45 we finally received our appetizers and drinks. We ordered at 7:45 and waited until 8:20 before asking the front desk to go check on our food. At this point the food had been clearly sitting on a heat lamp for some time and was practically inedible. With us receiving our order at 8:20 we made it clear to our waiter that we were in a rush and needed our checks and to go boxes. It took until 8:40 and us asking 2 other waiters to go try and get our tickets before we were finally able to leave, and were thereby late to our bus from the restaurant to the hotel. This is by far the worst service I have ever received by a premium dining establishment like I thought Landry’s was before eating here. I cannot make an accurate assessment of the food quality because it had probably been 15 minutes sitting in the window before it got to our table. The waiter seemed like a nice guy when we had interactions with him, but incompetent at his job and uncaring to the concerns of his diners. As college students on a track trip, we tried to have a fancy dinner to celebrate a semester and track season, with the little money that we had, and we are all collectively infuriated that we spent the outrageous prices for inedible food and were late for our ride back all in the same night. It is important to note that another group of 5 of our teammates, seated in a different section, arrived 20 minutes later than we did, and left 25 minutes...
