The Myrtle Beach boardwalk is a carnival of delights! Children's eyes grow wide at the sight and sound of the iconic Ferris wheel. Families building sandcastles, adorned with shells and seaweed, destined to be reclaimed by the tide overnight. Around the corner, an artist captures the scene in a watercolor, while others chat on a seaside bench.
Speaking of capture, don't miss the adorable Sea Turtle and Sandcastle photo ops! These fun and whimsical selfie stations are the perfect way to capture the essence of Myrtle Beach, as your family provides bright eyes and wide smiles with a beautiful beach backdrop. There are countless shops offering everything from t shirts and beach trinkets to glassware and magic tricks.
When hunger strikes, Moe Moon's beckons with its warm aroma of sizzling burgers and hand cut fries. Grab a table on the patio and savor a juicy bite. For a slice of east coast nostalgia, head to NY Pizza Kitchen. Their thin-crust pies, foldable and dripping with greasy, gooey cheese, are a taste of the Big Apple right here on the Carolina coast!
For a quieter escape, step onto the sandy haven of Plyler Park. Feeling sociable? Grab a drink at the Oceanfront Bar & Grill and watch the sun paint the sky for a perfect end to the day.
From sandcastle-building to Ferris wheel thrills, the Myrtle Beach boardwalk is more than just a walkway; it's a memory maker, a laughter generator and a perfect place for sun-kissed, salty...
Read moreTo be honest I was disappointed. I imagined that the boardwalk would be an actual boardwalk but it was a sidewalk. Secondly, with the exception of a handful of rides, they didn't have much to offer except for some stores. Most of the stores we're repetitive in that they offer the same products over and over again. We walked down one side and back up the other and managed to cover it in less than an hour. The parking was extremely overpriced at $7 an hour. We prepaid for 3 hours because we were told by a kind gentleman that the parking patrol literally sits there and waits for your time to expire so that they can tow you. We never imagined that we would have been finished in less than an hour. Perhaps we were wrongfully comparing it to our experiences at the boardwalk in Ocean City Maryland or Ocean City New Jersey or Wildwood, or even Delaware, but we certainly were not expecting what we encountered. Overall, our trip to Myrtle Beach was absolutely wonderful, but we could have skipped the boardwalk altogether, and definitely will the next time. It was a learning experience, and it was still fun to talk with different vendors, etc. I have to.say, all of the workers in the stores that we encountered were extremely polite and helpful, and always...
Read moreI'm a huge fan of boardwalks, so I was excited to come check this one out. I hadn't been to Myrtle Beach since 2000, so this walkway was a new addition to the city since my last visit.
Boardwalks are always a great way to experience the beach without going on it! This one is about 1 mile long, so the size was ideal in my opinion.
We came in the off season of mid-October so parking was not too bad. We parked a block back from Friendly's and had a short walk over.
There are plenty of places here to eat for all budgets from pizza joints to sit down eateries. We found a nice spot with a patio overlooking the ocean with friendly service.
We do not live near family, so we often travel with our two small dogs since we do not have a pet sitter. I was pleased to see that the boardwalk is pet friendly from after Labor Day through the end of April. We brought our fluffs in their pet stroller, but we spotted others walking their dogs as well.
I've been to a lot of boardwalks in California and NJ, so I think this one measures up to those quite well. Myrtle Beach and NJ boardwalks do rival each other with the...
