I went here tonight to get an ice cream and I hope this review is used as a learning tool. It is December 27th and 60 degrees in Naples at the moment (around 7-730pm)
As I was walking into the store it was packed and people were trying to come in and out of the store. I was holding the door so it would not be awkward/crowded for everyone inside the store. I also didn’t want to constantly be hit by the door while standing in line (we were packed like sardines). As I am standing holding the door open and letting someone walk out an employee- a girl with red/purple hair (a little younger) came up and yelled at me to “shut the door and move because it is hot inside and I was letting the air condition out and she didn’t want it to get hotter”. Now this is where the beginning of my comment comes into play- it was 60 degrees outside and everyone had sweaters/winter jackets on because it was freezing cold (for Florida standards) and when I shut the door it got hot in the store again…. So it was very confusing why she would say I was letting hot air in… when it was colder outside than inside.
Now this same girl served me, I honestly wanted another server but she came up to me and literally said “what?”- just what….. I watched this girl flirt with 3 guys in front of me….. speaking in proper sentences but when she saw me she could not be bothered and was very rude. I also don’t know why she went out of her way to serve me. It’s like she singled me out which is very hostile and aggressive in my opinion.
As I was telling the girl what flavor I wanted (after she asked “what?”) she then started talking to another customer to take their order or complete their order that she didn’t finish because she came to harass me more I suppose? I have no clue. So then once she scooped my ice cream into a bowl she literally said “move down there and pay”. She did not make eye contact while I was paying, did not tell me the total, told another customer she was sorry that it was taking her so long to count my change…. Very bizarre… I paid 20$ for a 6.15$ scoop of ice cream, and did not say thank you for my purchase, which she said to every customer before me and the customer directly behind me. I honestly have no idea why or what caused this reaction/response but it is not normal and disgusting. I should have left the store and just left this review but instead I patiently waited and got my ice cream which If I I am completely honest- I could have gotten better ice cream at another location down the street with MUCH BETTER SERVICE.
Another wonderful cherry on top is that I was the only adult in the store that was “not white” which also left a horrible taste in my mouth that someone tried to embarrass, harass, provoke, and intentionally make a situation more aggressive due to me holding the door open for paying customers at this location (myself being one of them)….. I would rather pay 20$ for one scoop of ice cream from a competitor down the street than walk into this store ever again. God bless and hopefully your family business can teach kindness and respect towards paying customers no matter how they...
Read moreMy wife and I went here this past weekend while walking down 5th avenue after dinner at one of the local restaurants. I was in the mood for ice cream and she wanted something sweet. This place seemed like the perfect place! I ordered 2 scoops in a cup, one with chocolate brownie ice cream and the other with peanut butter ice cream. Chocolate ice cream literally had no flavor to it and I was extremely disappointed. The peanut butter flavor was hard as a rock and my spoon was not able to scoop it at all. It wasn't just peanut butter flavor, rather actual frozen peanut butter that I almost broke my teeth trying to eat. Not a pleasant experience at all although once I got a bite, the flavor was much better than the chocolate. My wife ordered one of the cupcakes. She said that the frosting on top was delicious but the cupcake itself, under the frosting, was quite stale as if it had been sitting there for a couple of days. The service was good and we left a tip and the atmosphere was nice as well. Just not worth the extremely high cost for ice cream that either had no flavor or impossible to eat and a stale cupcake. I do not recommend...
Read moreWe tried several well known places for our wedding cupcakes and nothing compared to the quality that Grace and Shelly's cupcakes were. Grace and Shelly's even offered a delivery and set up option so the day of our wedding there was one less thing to worry about and trust me, the day of the wedding there wouldn't have been any time to get them set up ourselves. They let us rent the cupcake stands because we ordered over 100 cupcakes. They set them up and it was beautiful. All of our guests couldn't even wait for dessert so we all started on the amazing cupcakes early. Not only did Grace and Shelly's have a beautiful setup, delivery and display, their cupcakes taste absolutely amazing. We stop in everytime we go downtown because our whole family loves their treats. We recommend Grace and Shelly's for every event and even just for anyone who wants a good dessert. Thank you so much for helping make our wedding day perfect and our...
