I have come to this bar often over the past few months and I have always really enjoyed it, especially their Espresso Martinis. I am a local to the area and had out of town friends visiting (all of us are 23) this past weekend and I really wanted to bring them here for an Espresso Martini as it is our favorite cocktail and I enjoyed the one here. The bouncer was extremely rude and denied us entry stating that the bar was 25+ even though I was there just weeks before and had no problems. Additionally the signage at the entrance to the bar right next to the bouncer stated that it was 21+. If this “new policy” was put into place a month ago… maybe change the signage to accurately reflect your business practices. Additionally there is no other communication anywhere either on your website or social media regarding this “new policy” so that your customers are informed about your changes to your business practices. After reading other reviews for this place, it seems as if this “new policy” might just be based upon the bouncer’s discretion and judgement of a group trying to enter. I have no problem understanding if there is a “new policy” and age minimum to help maintain the atmosphere that this bar provides, however make sure that it is consistently being enforced and that your communication regarding your policies is clear and can’t...
Read moreMy friends (23-24 years old) and I (26) are loyal patrons and have been coming to this bar on weekends late-night regularly without any issues, but last night was very disappointing. My friends and I, who are always respectful in their establishment, were turned away by the bouncer who claimed it was 25+ for entrance, even though the sign on the door clearly says 21+. My friends under 25 have never been refused entrance before last night.
I’m 26, yet he still wouldn’t let me in. He barely looked at my ID and assumed I was the same age as my friends. He was incredibly rude and wouldn’t even allow me to explain that I was of age for this so-called “policy”. To make matters worse, he had just let one of our 24-year-old friends in minutes before us with no issue. Once we were able to call our friend, he came out to ask the bouncer what the problem was. After a short conversation, the bouncer let us all enter.
It was clear that the 25+ rule was not a corporate policy because it wasn’t enforced consistently, and he most likely was refusing us entry based on his own bias. His treatment of us was incredibly unprofessional and rude, leaving a very bad impression. We’ve always enjoyed Sidebar and would love to keep coming back, but we really hope management intervenes to ensure this doesn’t...
Read moreIt was my second time there. First time, service and atmosphere and staff was so good. 2nd time i went there to have drinks with my friend. We had 2 coctails each and were there for 1 hour. I was not expecting a perfect service or anything but our bartender who was a blonde lady just took our orders and gave our orders to us and we didnt even speak for a minute with her. She gave the check to us when its time to close i think.. and it was saying %4 gratuity added to bill and i didnt add any additional tip. Normally i do most of the time but at that moment i didnt.. After she came and said her first sentences to us 'tips are not included and they are working just for tips in a really rude attitude and i said to her okay ma'm. She added ' If you are not gonna give tip next time dont even come!' In a more rude way. I can understand first 2 sentences ( not that i have to) but last thing that she said was too rude and completly ruined my mood. And i dont think that she can say this to anybody if we wouldnt be 2 young women..Besides shes attitude, atmosphere and drinks were good. But i dont think nobody should say something like that to anybody.. Now i really dont want to go...
