Our yearly visit to Naples, FL consists of a lot of family beach time, day outings and dinners out on the town with our daughter. There is one night each trip where grandma and grandpa offer to babysit and my wife and I are able to indulge in a date night. This year we chose Keewaydin’s and were accompanied by my brother and his girlfriend. Let me start off by stating we were beyond impressed. Making the reservation via Open Table was easy and seamless. The host and hostess were aware of our arrival and the reservation was on time. We were seated immediately in the front of the restaurant next to one of the open windows viewing 5th Ave. The lighting was perfect and the air temperature allowed for an enjoyable open air environment. The food and drinks were second to none. The Island Smash and Marco Island Margarita were a hit and you can’t go wrong with the On The Beach and Summer Nights if you are looking for delicious NA beverages. For appetizers and shareables, we enjoyed the Coconut Shrimp, Zesty Crab Queso, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, Waydin Roll, Ceviche Salad and a 1/2 dozen East Coast Oysters on the half shell. Each item was knocked out of the park and were all delivered to the table in a staggered timing, so we could enjoy each dish, not feel rushed and so the table wasn’t crowded. For entrees, we indulged in the the Miso Glazed Sea Bass, 7oz Filet of Beef, Blackened Mahi Mahi and Crab Stuff Grouper. Each dish was well rounded, flavorful, perfectly cooked and hit all of the marks. For dessert, we couldn’t pass up the Key Like Pie, which was to die for along with the seasonal gelato sampler (chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel) along side cappuccinos and night cap espressos. Not only was the food out of this world, but the service was as even better. Our waiter, Ernest P. And his crew of runners, were incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable on the food selection / menu, gave excellent recommendations (which we took at every course) and provided our party his utmost attention. The team cleaned our table after every course, providing new / clean dish and silverware. Ernest was very polite, comical and made the dining atmosphere feel comfortable and fun. This was not only a dinner, but an experience / night out we won’t forget. All four of us would absolutely recommend and we will most certainly be back. Check out a few pictures I captured to...
Read moreLet me start by saying that we had a reservation for 7 ppl a week or so in advance of us arriving at the restaurant. Our party walked into the restaurant 10 minutes early and we were greeted by the hostess. The hostess and the manager spoke and said our table was ready. They immediately took our party of seven towards a table top right of the restaurant as we entered into the dining room, the hostess realized that the table was not correctly set and brought us back into the waiting area. Within five minutes correction was made and we were sitting at our table. We then sat for approximately 15 to 20 minutes with no server. The server then approach and said he would take the table. He then took the ordered of drinks but then didn’t return for 15 minutes or so to take our appetizer order. Appetizers were delivered before our table completely received our drinks. Appetizer were very good. Our favorite was the poke tuna, and mussels. We ordered our entrées. A server assistant approach the table, and pre-bussed the appetizers, appetizer plates, and some of the silverware. Silverware was never reset before our entrées got to the table. This was approximately 10 minutes or so. The restaurant orders extremely nice size exotic proteins. But the accompaniment from the menu are not to die for. It is in my opinion, that any restaurant on fifth Avenue can purchase expensive proteins and put them on a plate. What would then matter is how the dish is carried by its components. Four beautiful U5 scallops with a half pound of red cabbage is not what I consider great accompaniment to a $45+ entree. Also, one of our guests ordered a hot tea mid dinner, and never received it. Overall, considering the competition up-and-down 5th Ave, this restaurant will be an afterthought within 6 to 12 months. We intended to eat every course but once we were done with entrees we had had enough to decide to ask for the check. We really enjoy 5th Avenue as a family and don’t mind the $500 plus check average up and down the street. This restaurant was definitely subpar for...
Read moreI came here with my wife, and the food is inedible, really rotting, I can’t even describe it, and when I asked for a replacement, they replaced it but still charged me for it, after saying they wouldn’t, and in the end, we didn’t eat anything they ever bought us because it was that bad, and we hate to throw money away like this, we had to go somewhere else because we really could not eat a single thing that comes out their kitchen, they know it’s this bad and continue to do it because they work with the police or something, because when I complained about it and told them I would call the police, I was laughed at and told to leave within 2 minutes or they would call the police instead, of course after I had already paid, I was only making a suggestion that I would seek my rights about this, so I went ahead and also called the police just to justify myself and it seemed pretty obvious that the operator was working with them because I was told 911 is for only life threatening emergencies, and when I tried to emphasize the notion that I’ve been scammed to pay for food I was told I wasn’t going to have to pay for, the operator just proceeded to ask me if wanted to be arrested for the night or just pay my bill and go home about it, it seems like they work together and feel this confident to sell and serve rotten food to people and force them to pay these prices regardless or it even being edible or not is because they are in cohoots with someone in the police department such a a shame for the city of Naples to embrace a place...
