We are regular patrons to Smiley Thai in Mt Juliet so had to check out this location. This is a more upscale version of Smiley Thai with a nicer atmosphere. There were more pricey sushi options however we did not try any.
Atmosphere: Very nice atmosphere. We came here for dinner and the lighting was darker and intimate but plenty of light to see.
Staff: All the staff were nice and attentive.
Food: The Seaweed Salad was a good size portion, enough for 2 people. Also had great flavor.
The Gyoza Grill Appetizer was perfect. The texture was consistent throughout with great flavor.
The Beef Pad See Ew tasted excellent. There was lots of flavor. The sauce was on the lighter side which I prefer. I ordered spicy which was accurate.
The Red Curry Shrimp was good. There were about 6 large pieces of shrimp. The bamboo were thicker slices, tasted fresh. Good size portion. The sauce had good flavor. Comes preset as medium spice so it did have a slight kick.
I also ordered a Thai Tea. It tasted great. It did come with a lot of crushed ice. If I ordered again I would ask for...
Read moreWe found out about this Thai-Japanese themed restaurant on Instagram when it opened a couple of months ago and had wanted to try it out. We came in on a sunny Saturday for dinner. The place was already crowded around 7 pm but the parking was no issue, plenty of street parking spots.
In terms of food and drinks:
Kyoto Matcha IPA - An interesting drinking for sure. Veggie-juice like color. The matcha flavor was not very strong and it tasted like regular IPA in my opinion. Passion Fruits Heaven - Loved this one. Bourbon added a bunch of citrus juice with a pineapple slice to add some kick. Definitely a great drink choice for the hot summer. Grilled Squid - This one was really good. The BBQ was right on spot, the squid was tender, chewy with a bit smoky flavor and a little sweet. Tuna and salmon Sashimi - Fresh and delicious. High quality. Khao Soi Gai - This was my favorite dish of the meal. Curry broth with pan-fried noodles and lots of vegetables and sliced chicken. Spicy, sweet, creamy and lots of flavor. Highly recommended it if you wanna try...
Read moreI just don't understand what are all these people raving about???!!! We were 4 tops, we went for dinner to A-roi. We ordered some starters to share Hamachi carpaccio, grilled prawns, grilled gyozas and baby squid. Baby squid was highly recommended by their chef. I will start from there: baby squid was so bad and smelled like rotten, gone-bad fish. Carpaccio was nicely presented and prawns were not fresh either, gyozas we're nothing special. We continued with sushi, pork and pad Thai noodles. Everything was just either not good or barely edible - but most definitely: NOTHING WAS WORTH THEIR PRICE! Our waiter wasn't very attentive, the place is so loud we could barely hear each other talk and food was nicely presented but not good and the worst of all (all 4 of us) we ended up HAVING UPSET STOMACH AND INDIGESTION FOR DAYS TO FOLLOW. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We paid more than 350$, left unhappy and were...
