Updated review as of 1/25/2025:
So I have had Dr. Rubin do two surgeries on my hands. Both through WC, but the first I could only see him through concentra and this latest has been through the actual office. Now as far as his advocating for his patients (especially through his office) he is amazing and does not let the workman’s comp people bully you. And also as far as the actual surgery went, that was great as far as surgery goes! lol! However, do NOT expect him to actually give you enough pain meds to get you through the 1st week or two bad pain. And if you do complain of still having pain a very short time afterwards (like 3-5 days), you’ll go in just to have him look at your surgical area and say “well it looks fine!” And you’re like I didn’t say I thought something major was wrong it just hurts from you digging, cutting, screwing, putting plates in, etc. and Tylenol/ibuprofen isn’t cutting it and I can’t sleep due to the pain. The other last part of my review that’s I erased , was how I felt at the time and insured of being so angry it should’ve come out better with still getting my point across. So for that I apologize! And I REALLY want to say how much I apologize to the person who answers these reviews, and tries to fix whatever issues you’ve had here! She was great go between ,my cranky self and the doc. lol! Not that I EVER want to come back here for another ortho injury…. But if for some reason I need an ortho doctor it will be Dr. Rubin! In my opinion just from my 2024 surgery, until this surgery, he has really changed a lot towards his patients in being empathetic, sympathetic, being lighter in his touch on the actual injury site, fighting for his patients and NOT letting anyone push you around. Thanks to doc Rubin and my patient advocate for everything!!!! Finally got a good idea of how things work now. Once again I apologize for me going over board in my last part of the review 🫣 as long as Dr. Rubin is around and practicing, I will be coming to his practice anyway, done ranting, just was trying to fix my mess up and make sure people see the great things about Dr. Rubin! Thanks for reading my review and have a...
Read moreI’d like to start off with the fact that I myself am a doctor and know how this work environment can be somewhat unpredictable and i did take that into consideration before leaving this review. I had an appointment today scheduled for 3:30, i was asked to arrive 30 minutes early, i did that and arrived 30 minutes early, it’s usually for insurance purposes because that can take some time. About 45 minutes after my 3:30 appointment i was finally called back to the exam room and was seated. I sat in the exam room another 15 minutes before i decided enough of my time has been wasted and so I left. I did so respectfully and was refunded the payment for the exam. To the other patients reading this, i am an advocate for you, your health and your time, do not let this be normal. You only get so many minutes to exist and i suggest if your time isn’t respected that you leave so this doesn’t continue be accepted and things change. I suggest you do so respectfully because there is a good chance this isn’t any of the front desks fault, they take enough heat as it is so be nice to them. To the Nurse C, i filled out all of that information you asked me online before arriving as was requested of me. So instead of asking things you already know the answer to, rephrase how you ask them, for example “i see here it says you take lisinopril, do you have any other issues or take any other medications?” That lets me know you have read that stuff i spent a lot of time on and also ensures i just didn’t forget anything, which as we both know happens. To Dr Rubin, from professional to professional, do better. At the end of the day we are both responsible for the flow of things and are in charge of the outcomes. Lastly to the office manager, i know how Google reviews work so if this review disappears I copied it and will repost it later. Wish you...
Read moreFive Stars for Surgical Care and Compassion—But a Note on After-Hours Follow-Up
From the moment I walked into the Hughston Clinic, I felt I was in excellent hands. The entire team demonstrated professionalism, precision, and genuine care throughout my experience. Dr. Jones in particular was outstanding—his expertise and bedside manner made a difficult situation much more bearable, and the surgery itself went exceptionally well.
Despite the pain I was in, their attention to detail and commitment to my recovery were crystal clear. The team truly seemed to care about my well-being, and that meant a lot during such a vulnerable time.
However, I do want to share one concern: when I ran out of medication post-op, my surgeon’s office did their part and called in a refill to Walgreens. Unfortunately, Walgreens would not fill it, and I was left to navigate that situation alone. I called the after-hours number twice, leaving messages both times, but I never received a return call or any help dealing with the pharmacy. I ultimately had to go to the hospital because the pain became too overwhelming.
This part of the experience was both disappointing and disheartening, especially after such stellar care during surgery. Still, I want to emphasize that my rating reflects the incredible work of Dr. Jones and the Hughston team. They made all the difference—and I’m...
