This review is very outdated- it should have been written in February of 1922! |Also, this review isnât about fluffy pillows and amazing amenities (although all of that was wonderful as well), this is about an amazing, caring, empathetic staff (in EVERY area) that met us and cared for us where we were at - which was broken, confused, hurting and desperate. |You see, Staybridge is where we landed due to my husbandâs travel points, when our eldest daughter (who had been living in Nashville at the time) found herself extremely unexpectedly in the psychiatric unit of the local Vanderbilt Hospital. |She was 28 years old with ZERO precursors to warn us that she might have Bi-Polar, so it was way out of hand and she was a crazy different person by the time she was hospitalized. That was incredibly tough to process and or understand, and for most of our stay here, we didnât yet know the diagnosis. Our daughter was just way out there with no explanation. ||The first several days of our stay, the whole family had come together (not knowing what to expect) and we had each other and our own transportation. |Then came the moment none of us anticipated, where there was still no answer, but family had to go home (NC) to maintain business, feed animals, and generally reboot. Most would be back as soon as possible, but I, the mother, needed to stay behind to maintain a presence at the hospital and keep my daughter company during this excruciating time. Although I would only get to see her for 2 hours before family returned (a one our daily visitation) that hour of visitation for the patient can seem dauntingly depressing when support doesnât show up! ||So there I was all by myself in this massive city, with thoughts of my troubled daughter preoccupying my mind and no transportation of my own. (Funny enough, NOW, just like in a movie, the weather decided to mirror my mind and I watched a corner stop sign - you know, the cemented kind - literally DANCE in the hurricane like winds of a torrential downpour, from my room window.) |(I HAD to set the background story so you can see what this hotel staff did for me and how profound their consideration and service was!) ||One of the amazing perks of this hotel is that they offer free transportation around the city from their very comfortable transit bus. The drivers are exceptional in their knowledge of the city and the experience is quite safe and carefree. |I had scheduled their transit trolly to take me to the hospital for visitation hour, and Iâll never forget how the male driver (I wish I could remember his name this late in the game!) very light heartedly kept me laughing during the nervousness of my first trip without family. |FURTHERMORE, Iâll never forget my tears of appreciation when he kindly let all of their other passengers that were hoping to go out partying, know that he âwould be right backâ and made them wait till he returned, providing for me a private, quiet bus to prepare for my visit. đđđ Words canât express the magnitude of what this kind of care meant, under the circumstances! đâĽď¸đ|And the bus was empty when he returned to pick me up and get me home. He knew how to ask just the right questions to keep me talking, gently, hear my heart, and keep the ride back from being awkward and depressing. I was pretty sure God had sent me an angel to take care of me during this time. ||The breakfast manager was the same - checking on me when I came to eat, making sure I had enough and everything I needed. AND calmly but assuringly letting me know that she could sense I was going through something, and she was there to listen and attend in any way possible. đđ What? How? How are all these customer service people SO above and beyond in their sensitivity? ||Do you know that it still gets better? |The next lady to drive the shuttle HAD BEEN in that psychiatric unit many years back, and was telling me all the wonderful things about the care there. THEN, when she picked me up and found out that my daughter needed emergency supplies, she said, âGirl, I got you covered!â And she took me straight to get the necessary supplies, AND THEN returned me back to the hospital to deliver them, before getting me back home to the hotel!!! |I could have sworn that this lady was trained in crisis intervention and counseling, because that whole time that she chauffeured me around the city, we had the most healing conversation that allowed me to take a good restful nap when I returned to my room. ||Guys, this stuff is priceless! You canât buy customer service like this. ||From the front desk personnel (who were jovial, family like, and happy to be there, which makes a HUGE difference in your over all experience) who also had to receive packages for us and direct and schedule so much for us while we stayed, to house keeping that also went above and beyond, this whole place was a âfluffy pillowâ in the middle of a raging storm for us, and I couldnât be more grateful! ||My memories of the stay here could have been way less than desirable just due to the tragedy that I was living through. But instead, my memories resemble chicken soup, warm hugs, and a safe place to land. |You donât get better than that! I give 10...
Read moreTravel Baseball mom here- Weâve been home 8 days in the past 2 months. So when I say this hotel is the best then you can book with confidence! I am pretty much a professional hotel guest. The rooms are big, fully stocked kitchen with a large refrigerator which is essential for cases of water and Body Armor. It also has an ice maker. Ummm yay! We got a two bdrm so everyone had plenty of room and their own TV. My husband was able to set up his monitor at the desk so he could continue to work and pay for it all. Lol
Now for the staff. I am from the south and worked on cruise ships. I think Iâm well versed in southern hospitality. The only vacation Iâve ever had where the staff is as friendly was at a Sandals 18 years ago on our honeymoon . During breakfast there are 4 team members cleaning, clearing and getting food out each with a smile and a friendly, âGood morning!â BTW, the food is actually good! Oh and thereâs a coke machine!
On certain nights, I think M,T,W they host a happy hour. They broke out a baked potato and salad bar with ALL the fixins! It was very nice to hang with other guests and see how their teams did. Beer may have been flowing too because there is a full bar! Whoop whoop! Josh and Lexi took great care while mixing the libations.
For group reservations, Ryan is the director of sales. He busted his butt to make sure our team had the perfect accommodations meeting each familyâs specific needs. I personally requested 2 bdrm, bottom floor, close to an exit. I have small dogs and when itâs time to go they canât be waiting for an elevator. For the grandparents we requested a handicap room with a roll in shower.
Laundry facility. Clean, brightly lit, spacious and plenty of machines. Iâm not sure how many teams stayed here but we never had to wait on a washer. Oh yeah, they are freaking FREE!!! Can you believe the coin operated machines are FREE? Just bring your own soap. âŚAND There is a laundry basket in your room. HA! Take that Hampton!
Front desk⌠exceptional. Our conversion van sprung an oil leak the Beverly Hillbillies would appreciate. They went out of their way to assist us with a tow truck and to find a trustworthy mechanic. Come to find out the pot headed boys at Take 5 Oil Lube didnât put the oil filter on properly. Simpsonâs Auto towed and repaired the van effortlessly and hit us with a small $75 fee. (Thatâs another review) Thank you Jesus. We were pretty sure we had blown the motor.
If this review doesnât convince you to make a reservation at the Staybridge Midtown Nashville Hotel then you are way too bougie to hang with my 5 Star team because this hotel hit a walk off...
Read moreComfortable Stay Near the Medical District, Great Sleep, Friendly Staff. We stayed here due to a family medical emergency and chose this location because itâs conveniently close to the medical districtâjust a short drive away.
Room: We booked a King Suite, which was spacious and fairly priced ($170â$205/night plus fees, taxes & parking). 3 nights was like $802. The room was clean overall, though there was a stray hair in the showerâunfortunate but not unusual in hotel stays. Beds were very comfortable, and I especially appreciated having both soft and firm pillows provided. I slept great with no issues.
Noise: There was a dog barking in the next room, but since we had a suite, we just closed the bedroom door and played our usual rain sounds, didnât hear a thing after that.
Amenities: The hotel has a gym, pool, and free laundry facilities (just bring your own soap or purchase some on-site), which is a nice bonus for longer stays.
Breakfast: Breakfast was decent, with the typical variety Iâve come to expect from IHG hotels. The only downside was the fruit, it had that translucent edge like it wasnât fresh. That said, the man managing the breakfast area was fantastic. I saw him helping an elderly guest, clearing tables, greeting people warmly, and keeping everyone informed about fresh food. He really stood out in a great way.
Staff: Most of the staff we interacted with, especially at check-in, were friendly and helpful.
Parking: Parking is $32 day, and below ground in the garage that is conveniently accessible through the elevator.
Overall: A solid, comfortable stay with thoughtful staff and helpful amenities. A few small flaws, but nothing that ruined our experience. I'd stay here again, especially for proximity to the medical district and the quality of...
