We had a group of five for dinner to celebrate a birthday. When we first arrived everything was great! We ordered appetizers and cocktails and they arrived quickly and the cocktails were tasty. We were waiting on our fifth guest to arrive and our server encouraged us to go ahead and order entrees without the fifth guest present - we declined as we would prefer to wait for the whole party to arrive before entrees were ordered. Once we were ready, we ordered. Three of the guests ordered the 3 Course fall wine pairing dinner. The first round of wine arrived for them as did the first course. Everything was great! When the second course came, two guests were brought the wrong wine. We didn’t see our server for a solid ten minutes and had to ask another server to bring the correct wine. Once the wine was brought out, we noticed it was less half of what had been poured of the wrong wine. This is where it started to go south. Another guest ordered a salad and wasn’t too fond of the horseradish dressing for the salad and asked for a balsamic vinaigrette or something similar and was brought a ramekin of thick balsamic reduction, which is good as a drizzle but not as a salad dressing. It was another firm 15-20 minutes before we saw our server again. She returned to the table and asked the three guests who opted for the 3 course dinner if they’d like their desserts to go because they couldn’t finish their entree. The way she presented that statement was rude and made us feel uncomfortable as if we needed to leave soon. Why would you get a dessert to go when it’s a wine pairing dinner...you can’t get the wine to go. This really rubbed us the wrong way. So we enjoyed the desserts that were ordered and brought out and then she dropped the check without us asking for it and it was one ticket. She then disappears for another firm 15 minutes and comes back and we ask if it can be spilt into individual checks, as there are only five of us. You could tell she was irritated that we asked this. So, she brings us our checks...
When we started the dinner, I started with a glass of the Seekers Chardonnay, which was a very smooth and great glass. I had three glass of wine total. I realized on my bill that I had been charged twice for a more expensive Chardonnay. It was only $2 difference in the glass but it was never brought to my attention that I was being charged for a different wine, as I could not tell the difference in the other wine. When she returned to collect the checks, I told her I had a question and before I could even get my question out she said “we ran out of the Seekers wine, and that’s the only other Chardonnay we had in house.” Once again, wasn’t a big issue but it still should have been brought to my attention as she clearly knew what I was asking before I said a word. We were now waiting for our change, I paid cash, and she just assumed that she was to keep my change for herself and didn’t not give me any change. I tipped her 18% but the service definitely did not equal an 18% tip.
Normally, I am not a customer to complain as I have worked in the food and beverage industry and I have for the past 10+years. I know good service and how it should be done, especially in a nice establishment. I was very much disappointed in the service we...
Read moreWe had dinner there on the 7th of April, 2022. My husband and I were in town for the 2 Cellos concert at the Bridgestone Center on the 8th. Our reservation was at 6PM and we arrived a couple of minutes early. Our first impression upon entering was the music was very loud. We were seated promptly and shorty the waitress arrived with our menus and wine/beer/cocktail menu. After reading through both, we had decided on drinks and our appetizer. When the waitress returned, we placed our order for both. The wait for the appetizer was a little long but didn't think too much of it but when it arrived it was totally different that what was ordered. (Crabcake ordered, Shrimp Cocktail received). We sent back the crabcake and waited an extended amount of time for the crabcake with no apology for the mix-up. By the way, we were told after wanting to order from the main-course listing, that the menu was "out of date and a new one would be out on the 17th", which made no sense to me. That left scouring the menu again and making another selection. After our selections were made, I was close to finishing my initial glass of wine and expecting to order another. Glass wasn't empty, but close. I expected the waitress to come around soon. That didn't happen. It actually never happened until the end of the meal. By that time, I wasn't interested in ordering another glass as the waitress was very seldom seen. Back to the dinner itself. A side was ordered by my husband to accompany his entre but was not delivered with his meal. We were expecting it within a short time but did not arrive. One of the wait staff came by and we flagged her down to inquire about the side item and was assured it would come soon. After a long wait, it did come with no apology for the tardiness. We were told our "waitress had failed to enter it". Another misstep by our waitress, which we seldom saw, as she seemed too pre-occupied to deliver a good dining experience. The food itself was good, with no complaints but the service was horrendous. Towards the end of the meal, the manager (my assumption), came by to inquire as to our experience. I personally was so aggravated with the waitress that I held my tongue (as I'm apt to go off on a tear) and told him I would be posting a review of this restaurant. So, here it is. Good food, loud music, awful, and I mean awful service. By the way, the waitress had many tattoos on her arms and chest, if that helps in your decision if you choose to patronize this establishment. I'm giving this post 1 Star for the service otherwise the...
Read moreOur waitress saved the day, we still probably won't be back and my wife works less than a block from there and she definitely wont' be coming back. The food was really great and our waitress was awesome, but the hostess and bar staff were not so great. First, we came in, no reservations. The hostess was a matter of fact and said it will be at least 20 minutes, and we were good with that on a Saturday night no reservations. She just said come back in 20 minutes, I was like do you need my name. And she goes I guess. Strange! We ordered some drinks and I'll get to the bar staff in a second. About 35 minutes passed by and I walked back up, the hostess was taking care of others and took them to their seats, I was up by myself, when another couple walked in as the hostess approached. She completely ignored me, not a word, didn't look at me, nothing and turned completely to the couple and said can I help you do you have reservations. The gentlemen said yes, but point to me and said he was here first. She said to him, you have reservations and I deal with reservations first, again without acknowledging me at all. Wow!!! The gentlemen was like Wow and was shocked too!! Okay. She eventually sat both of us. As we waited for our seats we went to the bar. The bar staff barely acknowledge us. They paid attention to the other patrons but we were just completely ignored. Ordered our drinks and we looked at the menu. We wanted a starter but the the bar staff honestly didn't pay attention to us even after asking for a menu. Honestly it was like pulling teeth to get anything like a water with our drinks.
Good news. The waitress was awesome, she was super nice and helped us choose some great food, and I wished I got her name. Additionally the food was excellent as well, so hats off to the chefs. I wish our experience would have been better as I work in Brentwood and know the have a restaurant...
