Our stay at this nice, new, expensive hotel in a great location will be remembered for the disappointing service and the bad experience as we were trying to leave.
Summary: Slightly dirty room. Food & beverage service had 2 disappointments. Valet pickup was frustratingly long and a little disturbing.
In our room, the 1st thing we noticed was the fantastic floor to ceiling view of downtown Nashville. Unfortunately, the 2nd thing we noticed was that the floor was not clean. We decided it wasn't dirty enough for us to delay our move-in by calling housekeeping. So we dismissed that issue and got back to enjoying the view.
We stopped by the lobby bar which seemed at about 40% capacity. Unfortunately, we never got table service.
The server did not seem overwhelmed. She made multiple trips to the rest of the bar area and simply never came over to our side of the bar. Never looked our way for me to catch her attention. I gave up waiting after about 10-15 minutes and went to the bar. The only time she came to our table in our 45 minute stay was when, while placing my order at the bar, I asked her to clean our table which was wet from whoever had been there before us. She took care of that efficiently and never came back to our table.
Second service issue was with LouNa rooftop bar. Very nice bar with spectacular views of Nashville. We were seated immediately at our reservation time. Unfortunately, it was at least 15 minutes before any staff acknowledged us. Once a server did come to our table, she seemed mortified for the lack of attention. She then provided very good service and a free appetizer. So our very nice, very expensive experience in LouNa was only marred by the initial lack of service.
When I was ready to leave my room for check-out, I scanned my valet ticket's QR code which sent a text to have my car ready. I received a slightly disturbing reply: "Unfortunately, we had difficulties finding your ticket number XXXX, please present your valet ticket to the valet stand for further investigation."
Investigate finding my ticket & car? Oh dear.
So I made a trip down to the valet stand to INVESTIGATE instead of being on the road. The valet manager quickly explained that his system was down & he hustled off to get my car. That's fine. So I went back to our room to get our bags.
Came back down to the valet with my wife & our bags. An extra trip up/down and an extra 10 minutes since I tried to request my car didn't seem like a big deal.
A valet asked if we've been helped & I said yes, we talked to your manager about 10 minutes ago & he was getting our car.
Ugh! After speaking with a total of 5 valet staff and 26 minutes of waiting, we finally got our car.
So we leave this very nice, very new, very expensive hotel with a bad taste in our mouth over the poor service.
I do want to add that one bright point at the Hyatt was Ralph, the bellman. We didn't use him for anything but encountered him 3 different times while he was helping others. Every time, we were impressed with his helpfulness and friendliness.
Maybe Ralph can teach something to our lobby bar (non-)server, the LouNa bar staff and the valet manager.
Overall, this stay did not meet my expectations. There were several positives but it was disappointing to spend so many points and ~$200 for a leisure stay that we'll remember the "unfortunate" bad parts as much as the good. With so many other options for hotels and bars in Nashville, I doubt that...
Read moreSpa – The deep massage is highly recommended, complemented by a complimentary glass of champagne. A selection of beverages, snacks, and fruit is available within the spa area. This was, without doubt, one of the best massages I have experienced. In-Room Service – Meal deliveries were prompt and well-presented. However, the $5 delivery fee and 20% service charge may be considered excessive. The TNG – The restaurant offers excellent cuisine with generous portions. Service is both efficient and attentive. Cleanliness – The hotel maintains exceptional cleanliness, and staff display genuine hospitality. Elevators are prompt, though there can be a short wait for access to the 25th floor or rooftop bar. Once at the rooftop, music quality varies by night, but service remains attentive. Live music on Friday evenings enhances the experience. Cafe Coffee Shop – Conveniently located within the hotel, the cafe provides specialty coffees and teas alongside a range of pre-packaged sandwiches and snacks. It should be noted that incidentals such as painkillers, mouthwash, and antacids are not offered. Souvenir items, including shot glasses, fridge magnets, and keychains, are available, albeit at premium prices. Hotel Location – The property is within walking distance of numerous attractions, dining venues, shops, and museums. Construction in the Pinnacle/Everett area of Nashville Yards is nearing completion and is anticipated to add further amenities. Rooms – The provided robes would benefit from increased softness or an upgrade. Sheer curtains require cleaning or steaming, as they do not fully close and tend to bunch at the seams—an issue consistent across multiple rooms. Ice machines are accessible on odd-numbered floors. It would also be advantageous for room televisions to swivel for viewing flexibility. Rooms near the train tracks may experience elevated noise levels. Fitness Center – The facility is clean, well-equipped with various machines and free weights, and maintained at an appropriate temperature. Towels, bottled water, and apples are provided, and guests have 24/7 access with their room key. Pool – The heated pool area is comfortable and well-appointed, featuring ample poolside seating and cabanas available for rent. Towels and food or beverage service are provided. Please note that guests on the sixth floor may find the constant background music disruptive. Parking – The parking fee of $60 per day is substantial; rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft may be more cost-effective, as they are readily available. Overall, I rate this hotel four stars. It proved to be an excellent choice for...
Read moreMy wife and I visited for our 10th anniversary on the 4th of July, and stayed through the weekend. We absolutely LOVED the hotel, with one caveat that I'll get to.
The hotel's location is PERFECT for so many things for couples (or a small group), many if which are in walking distance. Pins Mechanical is a fantastic barcade/pinball place, with duck bowling and tons of other great activities. It's within walking distance, as are all of the endless bars, stores, and restaurants on Broadway. My wife and I especially enjoyed The Finch, right across the street from the hotel.
Speaking of food, if you stay here, absolutely get the Club package that includes free drinks, hors d'oeuvres, breakfast, and more. If you use it, it's 100% worth it, and really fantastic. The food was very, very good, and comes from the restaurant located in the hotel. Honestly, the breakfast I had there was on of the best I've ever had. The picture here is from the club area, which also includes a full bar and outdoor patio. We really enjoyed this spot.
The hotel staff was absolutely top-notch, and AMAZING. 15 minutes in, I lost my room key. But the front desk could NOT have been nicer about it. In fact, every interaction with staff here was great. I love how the housekeeping staff talks to guests - I honestly don't think I've seen that at a hotel before. It's usually just a nod or a "hello", but every time I ran into a member of the staff here, they said "hello, how are you today?", and I freaking love this. Too often hotels make their people into robots. Not here. It was great to see people working together and interacting with guests. GREAT people here!
The room: it's small, but we loved it! It was exceedingly clean and organized. The bathroom is laid out well, and the lightning controls were a nice touch. I loved the shower enough that I briefly drew up plans on how to get it into our car. But seriously, we loved the great water pressure, and the hot water was actually hot. This hotel is batting a thousand, on a packed holiday weekend to boot!
The only qualm was the bed. It wasn't comfortable for either of us unless we slept in the middle. The edges were ready to dump you onto the floor. But we stayed in the middle and made the best of it. We weren't going to let it ruin our weekend, and I have the distinct feeling that this is not a common problem here.
All that being said, we will absolutely be back, and this is absolutely the best hotel I've...
