this review is about my experience eating in their private dining area
I strongly suggest an alternative restaurant for your private dining needs.
My family rented their private dining room for a family reunion in November of 2022. There was a $3000 dollar minimum and we were only given the option of a prix fixed menu. No problems so far. We arrived at the restaurant, made our way to the private dining room and enjoyed cocktails. Appetizers were served. In my opinion the appetizer course was the best course. It is here where the problems began in an effort towards brevity I will try to list out my frustrations rather than offering a play by play.
the entire experience was incredibly rushed. We were only given around 10 minutes per course. The majority of our party were not finished eating before the next course was brought out and our plates taken away. Though we asked the servers to slow down they did not. all of the pastas were made with the same noodle even though that was not what was previously agreed upon. Additionally it was clear that the same base sauce was used instead of the 3 different sauces that were agreed upon. all of the food came out room temperature to cold they ran out of bread, as in each person was given one piece of bread and then they "ran out." they would not refill the food. What I mean by this is there were 16 of us (down from the 20 the restaurant had planned on). All dishes were served family style and the portions were not terribly large so when the group of young men finished their plates the restaurant refused to make more of the food EVEN THOUGH WE WOULD HAVE PAID FOR THE ADDITIONAL COST. I'm not expecting free food, but was hoping that I would leave the restaurant satiated. the salmon was very dry the chicken was better than the salmon but not well prepared the salad was nearly inedible because of the acid content of the dressing
All in all each person paid over $250 dollars for a hour long meal that was poorly prepared, and to add insult to injury, not even enough of it to leave people satiated.
In summary it was a very disappointing, expensive, and unenjoyable dining experience. I urge you to please take your private dining...
Read moreI used Moto’s private room for my wedding reception. It was fabulous, the room was perfectly decorated and the food and service were fantastic. Special shout out to Ed and JJ. They were totally awesome and deserve 5 stars. I’m giving three stars overall because there were some major communication issues with the event managers. The biggest thing being that when we first emailed with an inquiry they sent us several PDFs with a menu with prices and room arrangements. We signed a contract and when they asked us for menu selections later, they sneakily added a link to a new menu with higher prices and said nothing. When I asked about it they said that the menu I was given was old, this is the current one. Like okay then why did you send the old one to us in the first place? It really bothered us that they couldn’t just be honest with us, and that they wouldn’t honor prices on the original menu they sent. You can’t tell a client one thing, get them under contract, and then change it. We paid the new prices regardless, but they could’ve handled it differently. They also told us they didn’t have enough staff to rearrange their private room to add sofas, which was disappointing and for a $3000 minimum you would think we would be able to get whatever set up we wanted (which is what they had advertised). We had a hard time getting them to send over a contract as well. They told us that someone had just come back from maternity leave so things were backed up, but it was stressful trying to nail down this restaurant. Luckily in the end everything all worked out and it was the perfect place for our reception, but their events department...
Read moreI had been wanting to try Moto for a long time, and I finally made plans with my colleagues to go. We booked the earliest available slot at 5 PM, and later the place became fully packed. The overall space at each table was quite generous, and the atmosphere was relatively quiet.
Appetizers:
Tuna Tartare – Highly recommend this dish! The tuna itself was incredibly fresh and light, complemented by a unique Italian-style pesto and a mix of herbs. The texture was smooth and delicate. Even my friend, who was trying raw fish for the first time, really enjoyed it. Truffle Arancini – This was a recommendation from the server. The crispy exterior gave way to a rich, aromatic black truffle filling. I’d also recommend this dish.
Main Course:
Hot Honey Pizza – Another recommendation from the server. The portion was huge—enough for three to four people. The spiciness mainly enhanced the aroma rather than causing a burning sensation. However, I found it slightly too salty; one slice was fine, but eating more felt a bit overwhelming. Lobster Strozzapreti – Since it’s an Italian restaurant, we had to try a pasta dish. While this lobster pasta is a popular item, I personally found it quite average. I’d recommend trying a different option, such as the Black Spaghetti instead.
Dessert & Drinks:
We didn’t order dessert because we were too full, but I think their gelato would be a great choice.
For drinks, I ordered the Basil Rathbone—it was incredibly refreshing on the first sip, followed by a pleasant sweetness from the honey as it lingered on the palate.
Overall, a great dining experience with a well-curated menu and...
