This is the first time I have been here. I ordered a regular philly on the tablet on the counter and fries. I brought my own water because everything else is either bottled (wasted plastic) or tap (not filtered). The sandwich was ordered with their special sauce and cheese. I also added mushrooms, jalapenos and onions. Everything extra cost extra including the sauce. The only included item was the onion. While we were waiting at the only table that had shade, we were blasted by loud music. I never understood loud music at a dining establishment. You can't have a conversation, especially if you are a little hard of hearing to begin with. I tried to locate the one person there, but it took a long moment. He finally showed up and was at least accommodating by lowering the music by a few decibels. My total for sandwich and fries was over $25. To me, that is a lot for lunch (maybe I am just cheap). The sandwich came wit a lot of meat and a LOT of cheese. Not so much on the extras. Although it had a lot of meat, I am used to having the meat come with a little sear from the griddle and more seasoning. Sadly, the meat didn't have much flavor and it was made worse by the amount of bread and cheese killing whatever flavor it had. I want to give it less stars, but if I had just ordered the sandwich without the extras, I feel that it might have tasted slightly better, and there was a lot of meat. The best thing about the meal was the fries. Really incredible. All in all, a filling meal but, the cost for what I ordered was too...
Read more1 year later update: Prices have gone up substantially, and the portions have gotten smaller. In one year the sandwich price has gone from $10.58 to $13.99! That’s over a 32% price increase. Not only has the price gone up, but the portions have gotten smaller. Before the bread was the diameter of a normal hoagie, now it’s more like a baguette. Without a side by side comparison it’s hard to say for sure but it’s at least a 25%-30% decrease in size. They also stopped selling the 2 scoop kids size Philly Ice which was $2, now the smallest is 4 scoops for $5. 4 scoops is too much so I didn’t get any. It still tasted as good, but the value is completely gone now. A real shame.
It’s a really great place! My favourite is the classic philly for sure. The egg rolls are also solid and absolutely worth trying at least. The kool aid lemonade drink is up there on the sweetness charts. Very nice portion sizes! The water ice is also a great treat while you wait for your food, because you certainly will have to wait a bit. I’ve waited from 5min to 30mins, but it’s completely worth it and besides fast food there’s always going to be a wait!
Oh, my only issue with this place are the hours! They have the worst hours, but they are posted correctly. It’s just something to keep in mind. Hopefully they’ll be around for a very long time and hopefully get more...
Read moreBeing from South Jersey and about a half hour from Philly, we are well versed with cheese steaks. Been in TN for 8 years and the food down here is mediocre compared to what we are used to back home. Unfortunately, again our expectations were not met. The atmosphere was exceptional. The decor brought back fond memories. The smell of the food cooking reminded me of walking the boardwalk in Wildwood and the music was on point. Service took a long time but to be expected. We only seen 1 person working and he had several orders. I think that's the reason why our food was the way it was. The bread was great! The meat not too much. You could tell it had sat on the grill too long. The ff were half done and salty. We didn't even eat half of the container. I was going to leave 5 stars but my husband didn't like his at all and didn't eat it. We were in the area on business, but if we come back up that way again we will stop in and try again if they aren't busy. I highly suggest getting your cook some help. I think if he wasn't so overwhelmed the food would have...
