My wife and I are both big ramen lovers, so when we heard Kyuramen was opening in Nashville, we were beyond excited. We marked our calendar and made sure to visit as soon as they opened.
We arrived around noon on a Saturday, and the place was already buzzing with people. The interior has a distinct Japanese vibe, with bamboo-style decor all around that instantly transports you. Even their utensils, glasses, and napkins are stamped with their logo — small details like that really elevate the experience.
Their menu is packed with tempting options, so we decided to go with Combo A to try a bit of everything. While they don’t serve alcohol, they offer a solid selection of drinks, so we didn’t mind at all.
Tokyo Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen The noodles were spot on — perfectly cooked with that soft, bouncy texture we love in a good ramen. The chashu pork was incredibly tender and juicy, with a beautiful char that melted in our mouths. The broth was rich and flavorful but not overly heavy, with just the right balance of saltiness and a hint of sweetness from the corn. The poached egg added that extra layer of creaminess and texture. We both absolutely loved it.
Steamed Pork Bao Bun This one was a hit too. The bun was warm, fluffy, and had a nice bounce to it. The pork belly inside was juicy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The pink sauce was a nice surprise — it added a little kick, extra moisture, and really brought everything together.
Matcha Pudding with Red Bean The moment this arrived, the matcha aroma was amazing. The pudding itself was smooth, light, and refreshing — not overly sweet, which we appreciated. The creamer and red beans on top added just the right amount of sweetness and a pleasant texture. We honestly loved this dessert.
Iced Thai Milk Tea Surprisingly good! It wasn’t too sweet, but still packed with rich, authentic flavor. Honestly, it was better than some Thai restaurants we’ve been to.
Overall, we had a great lunch here. The vibe was great, the food was top-notch, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the small details. If you’re a fan of ramen or Japanese food like us, this place is a must-visit. We’re already planning our next trip back to try more...
Read moreMe and my Husband came here for dinner, and it was a nice experience, but I think it could use some work. Pros: -The atmosphere is very comfortable, and not overstimulating. The music is quiet and the lights are not very bright, but not to the point where you can't read your menu. -The staff are very nice! Our server was super fun to talk to and was very professional. The hostess quickly got us to our table, and explained the event they have going on, which is if you have certain phrases on the bottom of the inside of your bowl, you can win a free dessert, drink, appetizer, or even a free bowl of Ramen. I ended up getting a couple for a free dessert. -The appetizer sampler is a very good way to try some of their staple appetizers! Our favorite was the edamame! -The menu is clearly labeled what is spicy vs mild, for those who don't like spicy food. -Parking was super easy!!
Cons: -They promote their "honeycomb" seats, but they were closed when we went. They also make it seem like there are way more of them, but there were only 5 of them total. I will say, they had some more private looking rooms, which in my opinion is way more comfortable, and I wish we had been able to sit there! -The menu does not have a lot of variety. Of all the Ramen bowls they have on the menu, only 2 don't have pork in them. Being someone who doesn't eat pork, it was a little disappointing to see how little options I had. -They don't allow for substitutions. Again, being someone who doesn't eat pork, I would have been perfectly happy eating the vegetarian ramen they had on the menu, except they only had vegetable noodles (kale) for that particular ramen, and they don't allow for substitutions, so I couldn't change them to regular noodles.
Overall though, I would say we had a nice time. I tried their Awesome Lemonade and it was incredible! If they weren't so far away, honestly we would be back again. We would probably consider it if they made some minor changes because they were fun...
Read moreBecca is the BEST! She set the tone for the night as my husband and I were entering our very first Kyuramen. If yall are there, ask to be in her section. She’s enthusiastic, down to earth, fun and witty! Made our dinner soooo much more enjoyable (Becca, if you’re reading this, it’s Jamie Lee Curtis lol)
Food: delicious! Okay, this is strictly my opinion but the ramen game in Nashville has been abysmal (yes I’ve had black dynasty, Otaku, Two Ten, and none of them have really made an impression) — however Kyuramen was definitely a hit and so far my favorite ramen spot in Nash!
Popcorn chicken tastes authentic to Taiwanese flavors — yum! Seasoned so well, and my favorite popcorn chicken in all of Tennessee
Tempura shrimp was really good, crispy, light, seasoned!
Ramen- I got the ying yang (had to try as much as I could for our first time) and best for those indecisive eaters (also me) and my husband got spicy tonkatsu! The flavors were really nice, the noodles were PERFECT (not too soft, with chew!) — my husband slurped down all of his broth along with mine too. It was delicious!
Matcha tiramisu with lady fingers soaked in matcha water (this is the sweetest dessert on the menu and still wasn’t overtly sweet) matcha on top was bright green which is a good sign as dark green means baking grade lol
My husband and I are definitely planning to go back. We have to try the Japanese curry ramen and they have so much more options that we gotta keep trying! Also planning to go back when our homegirl Becca is working too!
Ambience: BUSY! Parking was rough due to Nashville Sounds playing
Overall: A vibeeeeee with good food and really...
