I paid extra money to get seating because I’m a disabled veteran with a bad back and my friend just had surgery and couldn’t stand for long periods of time. I also picked the seating closest to the stage when paying for the tickets. We showed up when the concert started and our seats were taken. The guard at the seating area told us that there wasn’t anything she could do. The other side of seating was completely empty and available. After informing her that we paid extra for seating and that I’m disabled and needed to sit down, they brought us one single stool put us in a roped off section at the very back of the venue. We couldn’t see the artist very well. The person doing this also made it seem like it was a massive burden to have to deal with people wanting the seats they paid for?? This was not okay and not the correct way to accommodate for ADA seating. Our seats were paid for and should have been reserved for those who paid or at least let us sit on the other side that was completely open and available. The stool was so uncomfortable we wound up sitting on the ledge of a window the whole night.
The venue lighting was cool and the artist was amazing, which is the only reason I’m giving two stars. I’m really not impressed with how they handled the situation and I probably won’t ever recommend this venue to anyone. Very disappointing to know that if you pay extra money for seating, they’ll just give your seats away or they over booked the section?
Edit: to reply to the owner (since there is no option for me to reply to their comment, I’ll do it here)
I’m not sure why you’re saying you don’t have seating my when you have two balconies with benches and seats? Those are the tickets I bought and spent an extra $40 on to make sure I got. In the video you can clearly see people sitting in the seating section we paid to be in. When we went to get our seats, people were there. We asked the guard to please get us our seats and she told us she could get us a stool right next to the speakers (I have PTSD from the military and can’t be that close to loud noises) or in the very back. That is not an okay response to asking to get what I paid for. Also as a customer, am I supposed to leave the concert and take time away from the event I paid to see to deal with something that your team should have taken care of? I shouldn’t have to speak to a manager to get what I paid for. Very poor service. Hopefully this isn’t how you treat all ADA interactions. If you sell tickets to a blocked off section with seats, people are going to want what they...
Read moreI saw a truly awesome show last week for my first visit to Brooklyn Bowl. Luckily, the band made up for what are my serious misgivings about this venue.
Happily, there is public parking at a reasonable price right in front of Brooklyn Bowl. Getting there and getting parked was a breeze.
The decor is attractive and the venue is impeccably clean. The outdoor bar let a lot of heat in on a warm evening, but only the restroom area was affected.
You should know that unless you come very early, you will have to stand. There is some very limited seating in the balcony area, but the section facing the stage was inexplicably roped off until it suddenly "opened" in the last 25 minutes of the show. The seats sat idly during the majority of the show while the roped-off area was jealousy guarded by staff -- often two at each entrance. Why? I don't know.
The "seats" are benches with the back at such a perfect right angle that it was terribly uncomfortable after sitting for 15 minutes. The view of the stage was partially obstructed by the sound system which is right in your face in the side benches. The sound was excellent -- effectively blended and the individual parts came through fine.
Brooklyn Bowl really wants you to stand! Even the downstairs bar was set so low and it had a floor bar set so that it clearly messaged that standing against the bar was prohibited, if impossible. There were very few places to even lean although those spots those seemed quite popular and filled up quickly.
Yes, I am over 40 (as were most of the musicians), but apparently you are not welcome there if you don't want to stand for 4+ hours, and to endure some "bless your heart" looks from the staff. Perhaps it is just my weird thinking, but I had the feeling that I wasn't supposed to be there.
It is a shame that their business model is not more inclusive as are many other venues in Nashville which I enjoy.
I did come very early and chose to eat in the restaurant. The selection is very limited, and I was unable to eat my BLT -- a hard dish to ruin, right? The thick bacon -- which I usually adore-- was fried so long that it was like biting into glass. The incredible burger was good as were the fries. The prices were reasonable and the service was fine, but similarly condescending, or so it felt to me.
The music could not have been better. The show was so good that I would consider going back to Brooklyn Bowl for the right acts, but if you choose to go, wear comfortable shoes and don't...
Read moreHands-down, the best music venue I have been to in Nashville. I have been to two shows here over the past two weeks - with my 13-year-old daughter - at this venue, and both nights were truly unforgettable! The venue itself is delightful - very well thought out, with VIP areas lining the balconies, and bowling lanes just off the main stage area. The view from both of these areas is fantastic, and the sound is even better. The bars, bathrooms, and even outdoor smoking area are all easily accessible - and if you need food, they have a pretty decent bar menu which has you covered. If you thought the sounds of bowling would get in the way of the music - you would be mistaken. What really sets this place apart however- is the staff… I was fortunate enough to meet both Lori and Mikey upon entry on night one - and they went above and beyond to help us have the best experience possible. Mother Mother is my daughters, absolute favorite band - and upon arrival, they helped us secure a VIP balcony spot and both checked up on us through the night to make sure we were having a great time. Being able to watch this show from that vantage point was something else, and my daughter was over the moon. Night 2 at the Brooklyn bowl, was to see MisterWives. We decided to try one of the bowling spots, and it did not disappoint. Lori made sure we were in a spot with another family, and their daughter and mine hit it off - not only did everyone get to enjoy bowling, we also had plenty of space to watch the band from that area - and great table service to boot! As a parent - I felt like this is the only way to see live music! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to give their children the live music experience, in a safe...
