Midtown Foods — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I will never come back here. This place is super weird. The customer service SUCKS. They have a tablet to order that barely works and half of the restaurants on it are closed without telling you. We came here thinking it was a restaurant with tables and waiters. We were disappointed to find that it wasn’t but still decided to eat here because the food looked good. We placed our orders and waited for a bit which was fine. We had trouble getting the lockers open and there is no one to help you if you need it. Finally we got one of our orders, but it said the other one had been cancelled. We were very annoyed because they told us this as we got all our other food. We just decided to place another order because we had one person without food. As soon as the other order was placed and paid for, the cancelled order was ready. This is place is so confusing and we ended up buying way more food and spending more money than necessary. The customer service is nonexistent so if you need any help, you aren’t gonna get it. The food was great but I give that mostly to the restaurants. I would NOT recommend to anyone besides a food delivery driver. In the time it took for us to order our food and pick it up, we could have had a whole sit down meal for a similar cost. We will definitely not be back. If you want food from one of these restaurants, just go to the restaurant. EDIT: I have come back and edited this like 3 times because our experience has been so bad. Be aware - this place is take-out/delivery only. While they have a couple of little tables and a few chairs, it’s not a “food hall” or place where you can sit and enjoy your meal. So, you’re better off ordering via Door Dash or whomever; even more so as the prices are Door Dash pricing.

The food was prepared quickly… we arrived in a small group and all of our orders came out at nearly the same time.

And that’s when it struck us that there really aren’t any unique restaurants inside of the hall. My Philly cheesesteak had shwarma-style beef on it. A friend’s chicken parm sandwich had the exact same chicken nuggets that another friend ordered from a hot dog place, and so on.

I’d venture a guess that there’s one big kitchen and line, and they just assemble the food based on the order and which “entity” it was ordered through.

Nothing wrong with that, but I don’t believe anything is individualized there.

And let’s revisit the cost - $31 for a 7-8” lightly filled beef cheesesteak with onion rings and a can of soda… that’s insanity. And none of our orders came with napkins or utensils.

Look elsewhere, and definitely don’t journey over here with the hope...

We LOVED the locker system! Basically, you order whatever food you want off the website (we got DegThai), they text you a locker code when it’s ready, you go inside to find the locker, click a link in the text to open locker, and grab your food. For someone who would very much rather not have to interact with people, this concept is glorious! I see that the only issue that could arise is if your order is wrong- sounds like from what other reviewers say there isn’t an easy or quick way for these issues to be addressed. We had no issues tho and the food was amazing! DegThai is our favorite but the actual restaurant is located kind of far off from our way home.
