Ellen’s Kitchen Review Location: 241 3rd Street, Neptune Beach, Florida 32268 Website: ellenskitchenatthebeach.com
As someone who loves exploring local spots and supporting small businesses, I decided to visit Ellen’s Kitchen based on its reputation and charming atmosphere. Located in Neptune Beach, the restaurant has a clean and artful vibe, with beautiful local paintings adorning the walls. These works of art are even available for sale, adding a unique and professional touch that reflects the creativity of the area.
The staff was efficient, promptly preparing and delivering orders to the table. Unfortunately, that’s where the experience peaked. While service was timely, the overall interaction felt odd and impersonal, leaving a less-than-welcoming impression.
The food itself was underwhelming. While acceptable in portion size and timeliness, the presentation lacked flair, and the taste was disappointingly bland. For a place that could have matched its artistic interior with inspired flavors, it missed the mark.
Overall, Ellen’s Kitchen is a decent spot for a quick, no-frills meal, but it’s not somewhere I’d recommend for a memorable dining experience. Based on my visit, I’d rate it 3 out of 5 stars. It’s worth stopping by for the clean ambiance and local art, but the food and service leave much room for...
Read moreWent to Ellen's for breakfast Sunday morning and had such a great experience from the time I entered until the time I exited. Everyone was so friendly and attentive to every customers need that was there. I love the team work and hospitality that they show. The food was delicious AND they have SO MANY options to choose from with each meal (choices of different bread toasted or biscuit to different sides). This place has so many comfort food items and that you won't regret. There is out door seating available & refillable coffee without an extra fee (I love coffee lol). Also, FYI the corn beef hash is made in house (not a can) and the cheese grits are so creamy & filling (there's cheese mixed in the grits as well as on top). This lovely little place is located in Neptune Beach across from Gumpys in the plaza near Bank of America. Free parking in the plaza and in walking distance of the Beach. Definitely try this place & enjoy the happy ambiance they provide. You will love it like I did 😄.
went back again this morning (4/14) & had an even greater experience 😅, I think this is my new GO TO spot lol & well...
Read moreSunday morning ride to the beach to watch the sunrise, a great way to start the day. Then off to Ellen’s Kichen for a good breakfast. We had been to her old location numerous times, always very good. We lost track of were she moved to when the renovation took place. We finally rode past her new place a couple months ago and new we would be back for breakfast again. You see we live on Orange Park and looked forward to those rides and the food in the old location. This morning the ride was great , of coarse the sunrise never fails. Lol!! Our breakfast was a real disappointment. The omelette I had was way short of 3 eggs as the menu stated and was paper thin ,as you get from the liquid eggs in a carton. Hash browns were pressed down to be the same thickness as a single piece of shredded potatoe. All this on top of no real flavor in the food ,as was in the past, left a very disappointing visit to Ellen’s new location. My wife’s food was pretty much the same. On a high note, our waitress, Maria, was very friendly and attentive during our stay. A very good ray of sunshine....
